Success in Exam ! - K.H. Lim

INTRODUCTION
These little books will give you an overview of how to prepare for an exam effectively. Every young person will take exams, especially in the Asia Pacific. However, nobody teaches you the strategies or tactics to use when taking an exam. Some parents are also struggling to help their children before, during, and after an examination.
If a student does not have any strategy or tactic for his/her exams, the student is like a traveling vehicle that does not have any route to reach its destination. These books have been published to help young children, teenagers, and youths manage their studies and exams during primary, secondary, high schools and pre-university time.
Although every country has a different educational system, some good practices and strategies can be shared with all learners for their own study reference.
Based on my own examination and learning experiences, I found some good practices and preparation techniques which should be shared with all readers.
There are two books in this series to help you to gain an overall picture of how to prepare for an exam effectively. The first series is focused on technical knowledge on how to prepare for an exam effectively. The second series focuses on effective note preparation, handling the specifics of exam requirements, stress management techniques, personal discipline, and time management. I also shared my studying experiences in these books.
For completing the effectiveness on the preparation of exams, please read these two books completely. These books represent my studying and examination experiences and opinions. I have tried to furnish good practices of studying and exam methods to all readers. However, individual’s study methods and conditions are depending on everyone’s self-discipline, habits, and family conditions. The reader should adopt each good practice according to his/her conditions. I am purposely sharing my study methods and exam experiences for reference.
Finally, I hope these books will help all students prepare their exams effectively and achieve colourful results in the end.
CHAPTER 1: WHY MUST WE STUDY?
Before we jump into how to prepare for an examination effectively, it is important to identify the reason for studying. Study systems have been established in most of the countries in various systems. However, nobody, including our parent and teachers, tells us the reason for studying.
1.1. Our Dream in Our Life
Firstly, we must have and know our dream in life.
If you do not have a dream, you will lose your direction in your life like a traveling car that does not have any route and destination.
Some people spread rumours about Bill Gate, who is currently the richest man in the world. These people may say something like He did not complete his university study, but he became the richest man; therefore, studying is not important for us.
But in truth, he was a scholar. He got a scholarship to go to Harvard University, the top university in the world. He scored 1590 of 1600 in his Lakeside college SAT. In the end, he dropped out of college after two years to pursue his business, Microsoft, with his partner, Paul Allen, due to a different path of interest. This meant Bill Gate is a knowledgeable person. Let’s look at his family background. His father was a prominent lawyer in the USA. His mother was the director of two famous banks in the USA and his maternal grandfather was a national bank president.
What I am trying to say is that Bill Gate’s success came with a good background and reasons. He is a creative and smart person. Do not believe rumours that success does not relate to knowledge. In fact, knowledge is very important for our future success.
All of us are born with reasons. Everyone must have their own dream and potential in life.
Usually, average life period of a human in Asia countries is between 72 to 78 years old. Our life is short. It is only 26,280 to 28,470 days. Our time is limited, and we must have a plan for our short life. We must know our goal and dream when we are young, and it must come with a plan.
I am coming from an average family in a third world country. I have had a dream since I was young. I wish to make my parents live better, especially when I started my part-time job when I was 13 years old. I worked as a canteen assistant in a school canteen that belonged to my good friend’s parent. During the time, I only earned 50 dollars a month. After I realized the importance of
