    Purse Snatchers - Burt Olson

Who is man? We are man. What does man do? Man destroys. Man seeks out the things he covets. The things he desires. If anything stands in his way, man eliminates his obstacle.

Throughout time we have built, constructed, developed, invented, discovered, explored, and grew. All in the name of progress. But will progress lead to our destruction? Only time will tell.

Why should we have to explain ourselves? Why wont people just take us for our words? Why is this being written? Why are we here? Are we here? There are so many questions to answer. Whats more important, the questions or the answers?

There are answers to these questions. There are answers to all the questions. The question is, are we intelligent enough, to come up with a logical, reasonable, sane answer, in a reasonable amount of time? Will our answer make the reader smarter for having read the answer. Or will we have wasted the readers time with useless common information. That is not for us to decide. All we can do is answer the question.

Philosophy homework: All questions provided by the University of Wisconsin Colleges. All answers provided by me, BBW. For our class, we were instructed to answer these twelve questions. We were told to answer the questions, then provide reasons for the answer we gave. Explain our answer.

Elaborate. Since I'm a poet and writer and since my answers are worthy of literary recognition, the decision was reached to include the thoughts in my second book, Progress, the downfall of man.

    PHILOSOPHY HOMEWORK:

    1) What is the best way to win an argument?

The best thing about an argument is when its over. Agree with everything the other side says. Then there is no argument and everyone wins.

In order to answer this question adaquatly one must know what an argument is. One must know the difference between winning and losing.

This is not nessisarily the right answer, this is just an answer. An argument is conflict between two points of view. Conflict is stress. Stress consumes valuable energy. Conflict consumes energy. Peace does not consume anywhere near the amount of energy conflict does. The answer to question one put an end to the argument immediatly, ended the conflict, saved energy and restored peace. When the conflict is over, everyone wins.

This is a difficult question because you dont know the context of the argument. Is the argument between individuals? Groups? Governments? Are there consequences for winning or losing the argument? Could losing the argument cost a person or people their lives? Is the argument even worthy of being argued? Are you arguing over spilt milk or are you arguing about going to war? If you dont know all of the variables, answering question one, is impossible.

    2) What makes a job most excellent?

Well, being over makes a job most excellent. That means the work is finished. A finished job well done is most execellent.

In order to answer this question adaquatly, one must know what a job is. One must be able to absorb the information on the paper and interperate the meaning of the question. In order to answer this question adaquatly, one must know the English language. One must understand the question. Then one must have the capacity to formulate a resonable logical answer.

The answer to question two is solid. The question asks about a job. There is more than one definition for the word job. This answer is alright. This is a good answer.

When the work is finished, the job is done. When the job is done, you have accomplished something. When you have a job, you have something to do and you can be productive. So a finished job is good. Good things are most excellent. Though simply because a job is over, does not nessisarily mean the job is most excellent. If the job is well done and finished, then the job would definitly be closer to most excellent if not most excellent, depending on the circumstances. Most excellent being of a high quality.

    3) Should anything be censored?

    Certainly.

In order to answer the question, one must know what it means to censore something. One must also have enough intelligence to formulate an answer of some kind.

Certainly some things should be censored. Why should things be censored? Because people abuse their freedom of expression. People behave or create inappropriate things which need to be removed from public view. Violence for instance. When young children are exposed to violence they become impressed by it. Some may not be able to distingish reality from fantasy. Some may act along the same lines of the irresponsible acts they have viewed from whichever entity is abusing their freedom of expression. People are free to express themselves any way they want, but when their public expression could endanger the life or lives of innocent people, or bring innocent peoples overall well being into jeopardy, freedom of expression should be, and usually is, restricted. Some things should be censored.

Throughout time, societys and civilizations have functioned best, when they submitted themselves to laws or rules that everyone adhered to. All of the great societys throughout history had some kind of laws. This is proof that rules strengthen the world, rules dont weaken the world. When something is censored, that thing falls outside of the rules society has accepted. For the better of society as a whole, that innapropriate thing is censored. Certainly some things should be censored.

    4) Does justice really matter?

    Absolutely.

In order to answer this question, one must understand what justice is. One must understand what it means for something to matter. One must understand the question.

Justice maintains order. Order keeps the world moving forward. Through order, we accomplish things, we build things, we achieve things. Through chaos, we accomplish nothing, we build nothing, we achieve nothing. Order is vital, and justice maintains order. Justice is consequences for unlawful behavior. Through justice, people are held accountable for breaking the laws society has established. The laws society believes are necessary to maintain order and keep peace. Peace is good. So is justice. When people know there are consequences for inappropriate behavior, justice, they tend to live within the confines of the law. Does justice matter? Absolutely.

    5) Are men and women equal?

With respect to human rights, yes. In many other areas, no.

One must understand the question. One must understand what it means for two different things to be considered equal. One must understand the word equal. One must know the language. One must know what men and women are. One must know how to write.

With respect to human rights, men and women are equal. Each have an equal right to individual freedom. The rights over their own s and minds. Men and women are, and should be, protected by, and held accountable to, the same laws. Although men and women have many differences, with respect to human rights, men and women are equal.

Equality usually applies to the amount of something. The question asks, are men and women equal? The question is vague. We do not know exactly what the question is asking. Is the question refering to the world population of men and women? If the question is, then the answer would be no. To a general question, we give a general answer. If question five was more specific, we could give a more specific answer. Given the context of question five and the amount of information we have, the answer to question five is quality.

    6) Seeing is believing. Discuss.

Self explanatory statement. Its much easier to believe something you see opposed to hearsay or larger than life stories.

This answer elaborates on what the writer thinks. The only reason anyone would ever write about or verbally discuss this short statment, is if an instructer of higher learning of some kind, assigned them to.

    What can be said?

One of the reasons this answer was given, was because this answer was all that the writer could think of. Perhaps the student was at a loss for words? This answer may have simply been the first thing to come to mind? Theres nothing wrong with this answer, a self explanatory statement explains itself. What else is there to say? Maybe this was the best answer the individual could come up with?

    7) What is reality anyway?

Reality is actual existence. Reality is real facts.

The boy is supposed to be answering questions for school, but he doesnt, he just sits around getting stoned, monkeying with his cellphone. His grandmother whom he lives with, calls him a lazy ass. He usually trys to ignore her, often drowning her out with outdated popular music.

    Wild creatures enjoy good weather.

    We have something in common.

We have many things in common.

    We have nothing in common.

This is my reality. We each have our own reality. We each exist within our own reality, yet we still look outside of ours and into others. We do this every day as we interact with people in society, and as we entertain ourselves with communication medias. Reality is real facts. Some people may argue that even fantasy, is reality, because it exists, if not only in our minds. Some people might argue that everything is reality. Everything is. Everything has to be something. Nothing is nothing.

One thing is for sure, reality cannot be argued one way or another because reality is.

    8) Whats the difference between being ignorant and being stupid?

Ignorance is the lack of knowlege. Not knowing. Stupidity is knowing and making bad decisions.

In order to answer this question one must have been through some life expiriences. One needs more than just information and a couple definitions of words to answer this question. One must have a little bit of wisdom. Maybe done some foolish things and learned from them. Maybe done some wise things and learned from them. Maybe done some foolish things more than once and learned the hard way.

Ignorance is the lack of knowlege. The lack of understanding. Some people feel sorry for the ignorant because they may be through no fault of their own. The more information we take in, the more we learn, the more we remember, the more expiriences we go through, then the more knowlegable we become. Knowlegable people are more likely to make good decisions. Wise people are usually are very knowlegable. Most of us leave our ignorace behind us as we make our way through life. Constantly learning from successes, failures and mistakes until our state of mind at our end state, is the farthest from ignorance than we have been all of our life. Notwithstanding disease or other physical ailment later in life, which may compromise our state of phychological wellness. Some people out there may not want to know. Maybe they are happy not knowing, happy just to get by through the path of least resistance. Maybe they are content with ignorance. The Amish for instance. They dont know everything that goes on in the world, more specifically pop culture, like who won the super bowl, and all the current events. Why? Because they choose not to know. Is this a stupid choice? That’s a matter of opinion. One thing is definitly for certain, by them choosing not to know, does not mean they are stupid by any means. However by refusing to know information that a large portion of the world knows, they are choosing to be ignorant.

Stupidity on the other hand, is another can of worms. Stupid individuals make bad decisions and they usually make lots of them. Lots of times stupid people have the information nessisary at their disposal to make wise educated competent decisions but they simply do not. Instead, stupid people make bad decisions over and over again. To give stupid people some credit, they might be very smart in certain areas of life, and stupid in others. There is no finger pointing going on here. We are just trying to work through this question. We would all much rather be considered ignorant than stupid if it came down to one or the other. True, ignorant people are probably more likely to do stupid things. Why? Because they dont know any better. Maybe they have not been through very many trying life expiriences and have not learned the lessons others may have learned? Maybe they have a learning disablity? Maybe they have a lousy memory? Maybe they simply dont know a lot of information, intelligence, so making wise decisions becomes more difficult? Obviously that person with unlimited information will make a better decision than that person with limited information. We all have made bad decisions at one time or another, we all make mistakes, but intelligent wise individuals learn from them, stupid people do not.

Why dont you ask some one else this question?

    9) Why do people get ripped off buying a used car?

People get ripped off when buying a used car because they put their trust in a person who is not trustworthy.

The seller, convinces an unsuspecting, naive buyer, to agree to a price which is deviously inflated compared with the true value of the car. The buyer believes they are a paying a fair price because the salesmen have them convinced. Most people get ripped off because they are ignorant, they dont know. The ignorant person, puts their trust in an individual who does know, but is trying to make money at any cost, and then gets taken advantage of by the shrewed salesman. This happens everyday in business dealings around the world. People are getting ripped of today, tomorrow, and will be forever.

People who sell cars for a living, know what they are doing. Their livelyhood depends on their ability to buy and sell mechanical devices for a profit. What happens when these salesmen find themselves in possesion of a lemon? If they think they can pass the car off to an unsuspecting buyer for a substancial profit, or just to get rid of it and break even, do you think they are going to? Or are they going to take a loss? People think about taking care of number one first and everyone else, second. Its human nature.

This answer accuratly isolates the underlying issue which is trust.

    10) What kind of government would Zombies like?

What is a Zombie? I dont even know? A living dead person? Zombies are a fictional being, they would like whatever the person who is thinking about them would want them to like.

Dont even get me started about Zombies. Zombies dont make any sense. First of all they are supposed to be living dead people, thats what the entertainment industry has told us so thats what we tend to believe. In the movies and on television, you see Zombies trying to eat normal people. Where do Zombies get their appetite? They are living dead people, they dont need to eat. They get their energy from some supernatural force. Whatever the science fiction writer dreamed up in their imagination. This is probably a waste of my time and brainpower, to be sitting here writing about Zombies, a fictional character. Maybe the Zombie movies and television shows are a government conspiracy to subconsciously brainwash a large number of people throughout the population. Maybe the entertainment industry is employing a scare tactic as a way to gain power over people through fear. Playing on fear. To you and me, the Zombies may be laughable characters, but to someone who doesnt know any better, like a little kid, Zombies are probably really scary. When people are scared, they are easily minipulated.

Getting back to the question. What kind of government would Zombies like? Aside from the obvious answer that Zombies are a science fiction character and therefore cant think, but if they could, they would probably like a government of all other Zombies or no government at all. In the movies, the government people are always shooting the Zombies so I suppose if the Zombies had the ability to think and reason, they probably would like no government. However on the other hand they might like a government of all other Zombies so they could have control of everything. Power, isnt that what everyones after, why should Zombies be any different. Was this a waste of my time and brainpower?

Just the idea of a Zombie, and the elaboration of that idea by the entertainment industry, puts a lot of people to work. Make up artists, actors, music people. All that stuff for entertainment.

We only have one question. Is the entertainment industrys facination with Zombies, and promotion of the Zombie fantasy, helping or hurting the world? Are the people responsible for pushing the Zombie fantasy making the world a better place? Making the future of the world brighter? Or is this so called art, completly saturated with negative energy and the world would be better off without it?

    Sunday March 25 2012

Yesterday evening me and my mom took her dog Hank for a walk. We walked down to Bark Lake. We walked about two miles. There was trash laying along the side of the road all the way down to the Lake and all the way back. Plastic soda bottles, empty packs of cigarettes, empty plastic bags, and all sorts of other miscellaneous trash. At first I just looked at the trash and thought to myself what a shame, but then I couldnt take it anymore and started picking it up. I picked up as much as I could carry in both hands. My effort barly made a dent in the overall problem. I thought to myself, if I could pick up trash, then put it in the empty mailbox paper boxes, the homeowners could take the trash from there and put it in the garbage. Like teamwork. The walker picks it up off the ground, puts it in the paper boxes, then the homeowner puts it in their garbages in their garages. I was just about to stuff a handful of garbage into a paper box when my mom told me, dont to that, they will get mad. I thought to myself, shes probably right, they probably would get mad. But why should they? Your doing them a favor picking up the trash on their own property that they are too lazy to pick up. All they have to do is take it from the paper box to the house. Most of the trash is relatively clean because it got rained on a bunch of times. Since we were afraid of people getting mad if we stuffed their paper box full of trash, we just left the polluted trash lay on the side of the road. They should make a law that makes it legal for walkers to stuff roadside trash into peoples paper boxes.

Yesterday was really nice outside. Dead calm. Sunny. 70 degrees. Picture perfect. We were walking down the road. Some of our neighbors were outside doing yardwork. There were only a few cars that passed us on our walk down to Bark Lake and back. One of the cars that passed us, I happend to look at. It had dark tinted windows on all sides and the guy driving had dark sunglasses on. I thought to myself who is this guy and where did he come from? It was like heaven outside walking, long shadows, late afternoon, warm, sunshine. I thought to myself, if your not going to have your windows open on day like today, then your never going to have your windows open. Does this guy have something against fresh air? Was this one of the fuckers that was throwing trash onto the side of the road? This is like another species of human. Different than me and my mom and different than the rest of my family. I think to myself, where did this guy come from and who is he? Maybe Im crazy but I immediatly did not like this guy and I only saw him for a couple seconds. I dont like very many people the way it is but I immediatly did not like this fucker at all, I wanted to stab him in the neck.

    death will humble my greatness

Somebody else probably thought of this idea already but I'll tell you anyway. You know how there is a bad drought that is destine to reduce the overall yield. Did you ever eat at one of those Asian restaurants and they got those minuture pieces of corn? Maybe the farmers could harvest all their little stunted cobs of corn and sell them to the Chinese?

    (ohwewoe)

My fellow student, evolution is not a proven fact. Even lots of scientists admit this. Before going back to school, I worked for a construction company. We built houses. The first thing we had to do, after excavation, was lay a foundation. Before the shingles went on the roof, there had to be a roof. The roof rested on weight baring walls. We built walls on a solid foundation, usually poured concrete. The roofer could'nt shingle, the carpenter and the mason's could'nt build walls until the foundation was poured. Darwin's theory of evolution is grand, but it lacks a solid foundation. Before you can talk about natural selection. Before you talk about genetic mutations. Before you discuss the change in allele frequencies over time, you must first explain to me how it all started. The first cell. Tell me about the first cell and how it came into existance. Lay the foundation for your argument. Explain to me how the first cell came into being. In biology we learned the complexity of one single cell. Extremely complex. The evolutionists argue that this first cell came into existance by chance in some type of premordial soup, consisting of ammino acids and other chemicals. Scientist's argue this first cell came
