About The Author

L.J. Valente grew up in Natick, Massachusetts. He attended Vanderbilt University School of Engineering. It was there that he began writing and left shortly after to pursue a writing career. After drifting around the US for several years, he found himself married to a Turkish national and living on the Aegean coast of Turkey. While in Turkey, he wrote for Cosmopolitan Magazine Turkey and worked as a translation editor for several publishing houses. In 2014, he returned to the United States and in 2015, he returned to literature. Since then he has published 21 collections of poetry and a collection of short stories.

FOREWORD

Well, here is the next one. It hasn’t been a long time since the last one…but as my life goes quite a bit went on. The cast of characters have stayed the same…lost a dear friend…William Fripp you will be dearly missed and never forgotten…

As always there is the two that cause most of these…My Buttercup and Pussycat…centre of my world pretty much…Lauren and Lexi….you still have not seen anything yet

So here we go….hope you enjoy the ride

Greet the new day dawning

Out of bed stop your yawning

Should have known enough

And expected to be this rough

As it was one of those nights

Holding on to all the sights

Oh such pleasures

Kept in the heart as treasures

May the days fly by

As you know why

Tonight to do it all again

Even in the state you're in

Nights go by so fast

And the days seem to forever last

But today too will pass

And then off to see the lass

To see it there where all is true

What it was and what we went through

As if anything else would do

For I am me and you are you

Insanity is king we've seen

Not because I was so keen

But somewhere in between

As it is with a king a girl must be his queen

Now as I play the part

Of the one with a golden heart

Maybe it wasn't so smart

Should have known that from the start

Only words do I have to sell

So on I go might as well

But the truth to you I'll tell

Might just be for the love of L

One more down and another on its way

Gonna be one hell of a day

Just thought I'd come by and say

Everything is more than okay

Finally I see

What there can truly be

And where I was

Not knowing because

If only I would know what this will bring

Have been waiting all along

Such is the search for bliss

Only found with a little miss

Before you know it there'll be that kiss

Now it is with great mirth

Feeling as if yet another rebirth

Taking over me

Not knowing but feeling what will be

I know I keep to tracks

But here are the facts

There's more in my mind

Than you would ever expect to find

May it go on forever

Like before it did never

I might be a little clever

Now more than ever

Whatever does come

I don't care where it is from

Left to see not just by a few but some

And not due to just one

Like a splinter I can't get to

It cannot be even more true

I hate to see the last

But will still get past

Yet another drink in front of me

Then me you won't see

But that's not true

It's not through

Just wait you can host

If I can make it to the other coast

Maybe someday

Maybe someway

Ah but there will be no dish

Like the one I knew as Trish

Enjoy your adventure

And know you've made an indent pure

Saw your eyes from across the room

Could swear that I smelt your perfume

Smiling glances

Looks like new chances

Every time a smile comes my way

I've just got to say

Watch out

And you'll soon know what that's about

Might be on the prowl

This Katt does like to howl

When you hear that sound

You'll know who's around

Maybe a second time you'll be found

And I'll buy your next round

Don't worry you won't get bitten

But I should be afraid of you little kitten

I won't hold it against you

Unless you hold them against me

It's your turn to say what's next to do

And I'm still waiting to see

Maybe just in my mind

And has been from the start

Still time has been kind

To give me my part

As I look from the corner of my eye

Dreams I may be seeing

But why not try

It's all in the being

Give us one more

And show me what you'll do

So you know for sure

In this dance it takes two

As the events unfold

And the night it begins to mould

Can I be so bold

Nothing of mine runs cold

If it can be told

All can be sold

Now please don't scold

It's not like I am all that old

Still somethings to learn

Now bridges to build not to burn

Yet another turn

But still no metals to earn

In a good place

Past the troubles I needed to face

But just in case

That number I won't erase

And a new day beginning

It's not the sun I see shining

Something else I am finding

No longer to be refraining

For the struggle worth straining

More than a heart containing

Found there in the training

Steady on past the start

As it is for this heart

Willing to let it bleed

For that which I do need

In the light I do bask

Leaving one question to ask

Will there be more

Than I found before

Now as there is no reprieve

Of which I can conceive

Not here to deceive

So true you can believe

As it goes like this

For a mister and a miss

As when you know who they are

Like on the stage a star

Before you think you know the plot

What comes next you'll know not

And as you think you know

Something new will show

For with this game

Nothing is ever the same

As if only because

The players are not looking for
