About this ebook

Excerpt:
Nathan grins. "Wanna see a magic trick?"

Before any party can react, his hand wraps around her wrist, the curse - powered touch sends her back arched and entire body wound tight as painfully intense sensations ravage her, again. Something between a whimper and cry fall from her lips, shaking, eye flying wide then squeezing shut.

Her legs give out, but he catches her, forearm hooking around her waist, and something even stronger follows in his wake. "O - oh, p - please," she gasps, writhing in his grip. Her nails claw at his skin as agonizing bliss tears across her nerves until she's convulsing violently with another orgasm.
Somehow, she manages to rip herself out of his hold, hitting the carpeted floor, still twitching and buzzingly numb. Her gaze lifts to see Michael's wide - eyed expression, then to Nathan's, black eyed and filled with bad.

"Little lamb." He smiles, all teeth and carnivorous. "This is going to be fun. I've been waiting to ravish you."

Q. Kendricks. A 2000’s born taurus with an innate need to write.Although I like a variety of book genres — paranormal, science fiction, action, horror, etc. — my primary passion is erotica. For all my stories, spoiler alert, they have happy endings. I practice realism and diversity within my plots. My main goal is to write what I’d like to read, and maybe what you’d like to read, too. Unfortunately, I am a poor college student therefore without the funds or time for an editor so please excuse the minor mistakes you may encounter. part one of a demon’s touch.

"So, uh," Michael interrupts the dining room-slash-library silence as he closes some book on witchcraft. When she looks up from hers, at the table across from him, blinking to attention with a nonverbal yes? he continues, You and Nathan… he trails off in a careful voice, noticing how she reacts to his business partner’s name, are you two, you know…—

W - what?! No! she splutters immediately, facial expression comical with eyes bulging cartoonishly and mouth falling open damn near to the floor. "Why - why would you even ask that? We aren’t—I wouldn’t—no!"

Despite the claim, she knows exactly why he thinks something is going on between her and the demon; not that there is something going on, but she knows why he’d assume that. The way the two react to each other, so passionately over the most trivial things, clues in on something more than coworkers.

She’ll never admit it, but the feelings are there; the relationship is not. She doesn’t think it’ll ever be either because it’d ruin the group dynamics, of which she’s just started.

A few months ago, she became a member of their duo after an incident involving supernatural creatures later identified as vrykolakas that intended on making her their snack. Luckily Nathan intervened in time and took them out. Thereafter, Michael gave her a vague explanation about mythical evil existing then advised keeping her run-in to herself. But a federal intelligence analyst who had already encountered questionable files, she started digging deeper, which set off alarms in high places.

Long story short, she learned about a society embedded within sovereign power dedicated to counteracting not-actually-mythical evil. Her skills in research and analytics were recognized and then inducted into the syndicate where she was designated to their duo. Compared to her dull life before, it’s been amazing.

    Except for Nathan.

Michael doesn’t tell her anything about Nathan other than that he is an exception to the demon species. Despite retaining the biological need to inflict pain, he possesses enough of a moral compass to direct onto those who deserve it. Based on what she’s witnessed and Michael’s report of their cases, he is a disgrace to his kind, saving the weak amid bloodthirsty rampages against those he should align with.

But he’s an asshole: a condescending, arrogant asshole who picks with her every chance he fucking gets. He treats her like an infant just because she’s a human and hasn’t been ‘trained’ for the field like Michael had. In one sense, she gets it but on the other, she went through quantico—top of her class, at that. How is that not ‘trained’ enough?!

Michael raises his hands in defense. Hey, I was just wondering, he assures her with a small chuckle. He plucks another thick paged book from a pile stacked on the corner of the table and thumbs through it nonchalantly. With the way you two go at it, like you’re an old married couple or something. It just seems like, I don’t know. . .

Again, she’ll never admit it, but she’s aware of their friction. It’s a mutual thing, though, arguing and bickering like children. He treats her like she’s incapable, and she treats him like a moron. Still, something more always lingers, yet neither makes an effort to address it (except for Michael, apparently).

That demon is an asshole and that’s why we go at it! she defends herself but her disheveled nature doesn’t do well to convince. He - he’s cocky and arrogant, and thinks his way is always the best way, but really, he’s a snarky brute— As she barrels on, her chest heaves with quick breaths, her heart pounding at the idea of going somewhere with Nathan. "And, yeah, he’s really, really hot, sexy even but - but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna have—we are gonna…"

Emilia— he goes to calm her down, but she isn’t done. And, yes, she knows it’s not that serious and she knows he means no disrespect, but she can’t help it, not when it comes to him.

He fucks anything with a pulse, and I would never - just because he’s sexy doesn’t mean I’ll forget about all the times he’s pissed me off! She rapidly takes in much needed air. "W - why are we even talking about this?! We
