    BIBLICAL MATHEMATICS

Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

    Isaiah 40:12

    Introduction

Yahweh, the Great Creator of all things created numbers and the concept of numbering and used those numbers to number His creation and His mighty acts in the Bible. This book, Biblical Mathematics explores the special numbers that God used in the Bible and reveals how they are related. It also explores the various numbering techniques that He employed in the Bible. You will discover how He designed and used certain numbers in relation to certain subject matters.

By understanding the numbers of the Bible, the reader will see the numerical designs employed by God as He interacted with mankind. Hence, giving the reader a greater understanding of the acts of the Almighty. The reader will discover, that understanding Yahweh’s number in scripture is essential to a complete understanding of the Bible. For example, Jesus said He would die and be raised on the 3rd day. Why the 3rd day? and what is the numerical significance to God. After reading this book the reader will gain a greater understanding of such numbers and why they were and are used by the Almighty.

    Chapter 1 - Yahweh’s One Concept

    The Concept in Numbering Events

In the Bible, Yahweh used His numbers and employed a unique numbering method to number many of the great events of the Bible. Therefore, the subject of Biblical mathematics is about the numbering techniques used by the Almighty in His Word. Yahweh the Great Mathematician used His numbers when commanding His people on a consistent basis. Therefore, the historical data contained in the Bible reveals a type of arithmetic that the Creator used to number as He determined the parameters of Biblical events. Unless those events are numbered by the numbers that He used, His numerical patterns will not be evident.

    He is One

When God created numbers He used the first number, the number 1, to refer to Himself. In Deuteronomy 6:4-5, God told Israel that He was One.

"4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is One LORD:

5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. "

Yahweh is One and His Oneness has a deep meaning and is very important. In the Bible His being One is a part of His One complex that He used to number events in the Bible. For example, He is not just One He is also the only One.

    He is the only God

In Isaiah 44:6, God told Israel that He was the One and only God.

6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

Therefore, He is not just One He is the only One. In Isaiah 45:5-6, Yahweh again states that there is no other God.

I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

And in Isaiah 45:18: Yahweh states:

For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

In addition to being One and the only One, God instructed Israel that there was no One like Him. For instance, in Isaiah 46:9-10, Yahweh told Israel:

"46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,

46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:"

Therefore, When Yahweh stated that He was One, it was a part of His One complex. In the Bible He is One and first in all parameters and in this book I refer to this as Yahweh’s One concept.

The remainder of this chapter will be dedicated to showing how extensively Yahweh has used the number One as a concept. For example, in addition to being One and the only One He is also referred to in the Bible as the Almighty One.

    The Almighty One

In addition to being One and the only One, Yahweh of Hosts is also known as the Almighty One. For example in Genesis 17:1, the Bible states:

1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

Abraham lived in a world where there were many gods. However, Yahweh let Abraham know that He was the Almighty God. There can be only One Almighty One. Furthermore, in Exodus 6:2-3, He spoke to Moses about His name.

"2 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD:

3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them."

(Yahweh is translated as Jehovah in many English Bibles)

Moreover, in Deuteronomy 10:17, Moses told Israel:

17 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:

He is Yahweh of Hosts; He is the God of gods, the Almighty One. The prophet John noted this in Revelation 1:7-8.

"7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."

He is the great I AM

He has One state, the present

He exist in One moment forever

    The Holy One of Israel

As well as being the Almighty One, He is also known as the Holy One of Israel. While there are many in Israel, He is the First Holy One in Israel. For example in Isaiah 47:4, the Bible states:

4 As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.

And in Isaiah 54:5, the Bible notes:

5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

When Yahweh states that He is One, He is stating that He is One in all parameters. Therefore:

    Yahweh is One

    Yahweh is the only One

    Yahweh is the first One

Yahweh is the only One like Himself

Yahweh of Hosts is God of Gods

Yahweh is the Holy One of Israel

    Yahweh is the Almighty One

Yahweh used His One concept when He designed His creation. He also used His One concept in His commandments in the Bible.

Yahweh’s One Concept in His Religious Ordinances

For example, Yahweh also used His One concept in His religious instructions to Israel.

    One Tabernacle

When He decided to establish a place of worship for the nation, He also instructed Moses to build just:

1 tabernacle for the entire nation: God told Israel to make

    1 Ark with

1 Mercy Seat with two Cherubim with

1 Place where He would appear. He also told Israel to build

1 Altar to burn incense and

    1 Candlestick of gold and

1 Table for the shew bread of the tabernacle. He also told them to build

1 Laver for the priests to wash in. He gave them instructions to build

1 Altar for animal sacrifices for the entire nation of Israel. Then He chose

1 Tribe to service the items of the Tabernacle. Yahweh chose to consecrate

1 Man Aaron, as High Priest for the entire Nation. And

1 Day of the year, the day of atonement, he entered the

1 Holy of Holies to make atonement for the entire nation

One Place to Worship Him in the Promised Land

In keeping with His One concept, Yahweh instructed Israel that He would establish One place for the people to worship Him at Passover. For example, in Deuteronomy 16:1-7, the Bible states:

"1 Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto the LORD thy God: for in the month of Abib the LORD thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.

2 Thou shalt therefore sacrifice the passover unto the LORD thy God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which the LORD shall choose to place his name there.

5 Thou mayest not sacrifice the passover within any of thy gates, which the LORD thy God giveth thee:

6 But at the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name in, there thou shalt sacrifice the passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.

7 And thou shalt roast and eat it in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose: and thou shalt turn in the morning, and go unto thy tents."

Later, when Israel entered the Promised Land, Yahweh hallowed One place for the entire nation." First He placed His tabernacle and His name at Shiloh. However because of sin He eventually chose One city Jerusalem and One temple, and put His name there.

The First of the Ten Commandments

His first commandment to the nation was to honor Him as the first and only One. In Exodus 20:2-6, the Bible states:

"2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me."

Yahweh is number One and the first.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

Yahweh is first and not second, He is not to be patterned after any image in the earth.

    5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

6 And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Yahweh instructed the people that He is the first and the only One to be worshiped. Yahweh states this repeatedly throughout the Bible emphasizing His One concept as:

    He is One

    He is the first

    He is the only One

He is the only One to be worshipped

In Exodus 34:12-14, Israel was instructed again to worship the One and only true God when they came into the Promised Land.

"12 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:

13 But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:

14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:"

He is to be the first and only God to be worshiped. Jesus confirmed this when the devil tempted Him in the desert; Jesus told the devil that only The Almighty One is to be served. In Matthew 4:8-10, the Bible states:

    "8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve."

All of the nations that Satan showed Jesus had religions with many gods. Jesus told the devil what He already knew, that there is only One true God and He is the only One to be served.

One Law for All of the People

Yahweh applied His One concept when He gave His law to Israel. In Numbers 15:13:15, He established One law for all of the nation.

"13 All that are born of the country shall do these things after this manner, in offering an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

14 And if a stranger sojourn with you, or whosoever be among you in your generations, and will offer an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD; as ye do, so he shall do.

15 One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be before the LORD.

16 One law and One manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you."

God stated that there was to be One law for all of the people including strangers.

    Covenants

When man sinned Yahweh made covenants with various men throughout time to save them. When He did this He employed His One concept, He chose just One man to interact with. For example, when He decided to save people in the days of Noah He made a covenant with:

1 Man - Noah. Later, He also made another covenant with

1 Man - Abraham to make him the father of many nations. He renewed this covenant with

1 Man name Isaac. He also renewed it again, with Isaac’s son

1 Man, Jacob. When He decided to deliver Israel from Egypt He called

1 Man - Moses and had Him lead Israel out of Egypt. Later, He gave

1 Man - Moses His law - thereby sanctifying

1 Nation - Israel for Himself at that time.

    One Messiah

When He decided to redeem man from sin He chose One Messiah, Jesus, as a sacrifice for sin. God also used His One concept with respect to salvation. In John 14:6, Jesus notes that there is only One way to the Father.

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

In Acts 4:10-12, the Bible makes this point again:

"10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him
