Reviews on the series:
The £20 Note - Audible Reviews :
5 stars : “Interesting group of stories connected by a £20 note”
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I would. It's a short story so it's a nice bite to consume on a walk with your dog or whilst you're sat in traffic.
What other book might you compare The £20 Note to, and why?
I can't really compare it to any other book, though it appealed to me because I like crime/mystery fiction though it's not easy to put it into that category either.
What does Matthew Kerslake bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Putting the voices to the characters. It's difficult to get lost in a book with characters.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, it's a short story.
Any additional comments?
It's an interesting group of stories that can really only be linked together by something as simple as a lost £20 note. Beware though, it get's increasingly more adult as the story is told!!
The £20 Note - Amazon Kindle Reviews :
5 Stars : The journey of the note is a twisty one, exchanged between people in some unexpected ways, kept and carried by some unusual means, and allowing us fleeting glimpses into the very different lives of some diverse characters. £20 says you can’t predict where it goes or where it will end up! A very entertaining read.
5 Stars : The £20 note provides the unique story of a single note left to the wind and day in the widely diverse waters, streets and people of London. It’s a remarkable book and a must have.
5 Stars : An excellent book that is quirky and keeps you hooked right till the end. I hope there are more books like these to come, would make for a great film by the way.
5 Stars : I enjoyed reading some funny bits but overall following the £20 was a really interesting read.
Warning : Contains Adult Themes

PROLOGUE
Our story begins on a cold and frightfully chilly night in early November as a group of young Oxford University Students arriving from London, England set foot upon American soil, land of the free, for their first time ever at JFK Airport in Queens, New York.
After they had passed through seemingly endless security checks, one of the youngest members of the group, Tom Birch, visited the currency exchange desk located in the main airport foyer and at a ridiculous rate of exchange, that was a complete rip off, changed over his remaining pound sterling into what can be best described as monopoly money to cover the leisurely expenses of his weekend vacation.
The Airport was packed to the rafters with tourists from all walks of life, still reeling from the fatigue-inducing effects of jet lag as a direct result of their respective journeys.
There were a few free spirits dotted about the place: those who had ventured all the way from the 4 corners of the earth and back again on one hell of a gap year, a few suits who were just visiting for the day on business, and a plethora of other weary-eyed travelers who were on their way home to see family for the Thanksgiving season.
The young man quickly checked through his currency, that was mainly given to him in the fifties, twenties a few tens and ones to make sure that he had enough for the trip. He then proceeded to safely stow the cash away in his wallet, next to a freshly printed passport, in his right fleece pocket that he quickly zipped up as he returned to his friends who were already making their way out of the Airport gates.
CHAPTER 1
WELCOME TO NEW YORK
Did you get your cash all sorted mate!?
his best friend Jerry Adams asked.
Yes...I’m certainly glad that’s all taken care of!...Christ, they don’t half take a big chunk out of it in commission though!...the greedy bastards!
he replied, casually jogging over to catch up with the rest of the gang, getting a dirty look from one of the security guards on patrol who had unintentionally overheard him, both hands placed firmly on his state-issued rapid-fire machine gun, a counter-terrorism measure introduced by the president elects administration.
Well, that’s your own fault for not getting it all sorted before you left home, Tom!
Miranda Hart, the oldest of the group, harshly scolded him, acting as a disapproving mother figure.
Boys will be boys!
laughed Megan Young the final member of Toms little entourage. Although, it wouldn’t be a happy 21st if you didn’t have any cash to spend!
she remarked as they all continued on their way over to the train station, one that would connect them onto the vast and sprawling labyrinth that was the underground New York subway system.
I didn’t think I needed any!?
he joked, I thought you were all going to be paying for the whole trip for me!?
he continued, with a hint of high hopes.
On your bike!
came Jerry’s reply, as he hauled his luggage over to the automated ticket machines, as did the others.
You’ll be lucky, I’ve still got my student loan to sort out first!
Megan told him as she reached into her purse and pulled out a rosy red lipstick, quickly applying it to her luscious and sweetly kissable lips, whilst staring at her reflection in a
