I did just about anything to make a few bucks.When I graduated from high school, I did not really know what I wanted to do for a career, so I went to auto mechanics school to learn a trade. I figured that even if it was not what I eventually wanted for a life-long career, it would be a skill that would always come in handy. After graduating from the trade school, I worked in the auto repair industry for only a couple of years. While I enjoyed the work, I quickly got tired of smelling like grease and oil every day, yet I continued working on cars as a hobby.Variety being the spice of life, I have owned and operated many successful businesses during my lifetime, many of which I started from scratch; a full service landscape company, soup and sandwich restaurant, and a gas station and body shop. The (3) major Social Media sites are: Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. So, how can you leverage these sites to increase your business? By using Social Media in a way that is efficient for your business.

Let’s start with the basics and look at exactly what Social Media is. Social Media is a space where people hang out, where they discuss topics with friends and acquaintances, where they share News, where they get suggestions and advice, and where they share Images and Videos.

As Social Networks grew in popularity and costs associated with running the businesses increased, the Social Networks needed to implement strategies to monetize their services and Advertising was implemented.

Facebook and Twitter definitely lead the way in terms of their Advertising model (and now Pinterest has joined the group).

Social Networks With Ads:

The following Social Networks employ the use of Ads on their site:

• Facebook

• Twitter

• Pinterest

Advertising (paying for visibility or paying for clicks) on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter costs money though, but what about some FREE Social Strategies? I will teach you these FREE Strategies for each of the (3) Social Networks mentioned above, in upcoming Steps. These strategies will teach you how to build your Social Media foundation and become a powerful force. By implementing a good social engagement strategy, you will provide yourself with additional streams of Income. Social engagement will also help your rankings in the search engines.

Some of the benefits of using Social Media are:

• Helps you to build your Brand and Reputation

• Will provide additional Traffic and potential Revenue

• Allow people to Share your content easily

• Helps you get better ranking for your Posts and Pages

Understand that simply hanging out on any Social Media site is not Marketing. It is not the most productive use of your time. You need to have a plan on how to be productive on a Social Network and where to spend your time. There are only a certain number of hours in a day, so, you are better off using no Social Media at all for your business, if all that you intend to do is just hang out.

What is the ultimate goal with your content? To engage your visitors. The more social avenues you can provide people to communicate, share, and engage around your content, the more you will diversify your Traffic. If you have a good social following and people that watch for your new content (because they like it), you are going to get additional Traffic and potentially a lot of it with each new piece of content that you create.

Install a Good Social Plugin on Your Site

So, the first thing that you need to do for setting up your Social Media is to install a good Social Plugin on your site if you do not already have one. You can do this as follows:

1. In your WordPress Dashboard, point to ‘Plugins’ and click on ‘Add New’.

2. In the Search window, key in: ‘Social’. Many Plugin choices will appear.

3. Research and choose the one that you think you will like. Make sure to look at the amount of active users before choosing.

Some Plugins will only work with certain Themes. Others are more universal. One that I would recommend is: ‘Sociable’. It works well with most Themes.

Once you install your Plugin, ‘Activate’ it. Then, set it up as needed. Once you have activated the Sociable Plugin, you can
