For the next week, Deena concentrated hard on her studies and tried not to think about what the next weekend would bring. She even switched around her work schedule at the café so that she wouldn’t have to work until later in the day on Sunday, choosing to work weeknights instead.

The Professor had arranged things; he’d told her in a note passed in class. She was going to have her first lesbian experience on Friday night.

In class, they were studying sexual identity, interestingly enough. Professor Sturm wrote several words on the white board including sodomite, tribadism, third sex, and inversion.

He turned to the class, and Deena inwardly sighed. Jet black hair, aqua eyes, and a faint Eastern European accent made him delectable under any means, but it was his fine physique and his burning intensity that had drawn her lately. He was a sadist, a dominant, and she wanted nothing more than for him to take her permanently as his slave.

He tapped on the white board. These words were all attempts by the medical and psychiatric community in the turn of the century to describe sexual attraction to the same gender. Most doctors and psychologists thought this was a mental disorder, but now we understand that sexual attraction is a spectrum, not a simple one choice or the other. His gaze flicked to Deena. Many women report having had sexual attraction to other women, and more men that you’d expect have experimented with their own gender, either as children or young adults.

Several guys in the class made barfing sounds, while some of the girls giggled and blushed. Deena’s own cheeks heated up, but she stayed quiet, staring intently as the professor wrote their required reading on the board.
