They find themselves trapped within the rooms of the “Halloween Mansion.” And the only way to escape is to solve the puzzles that are throughout the old house.
They soon discover that they are not alone inside the old mansion. They find numerous children from Halloweens past, who just like them, had to solve the puzzles within the mansion but failed.
They only have two options...
Solve the puzzles and go home. Or fail to solve the puzzles and stay in the Halloween Mansion forever!

PART ONE
A COLD AND RAINY NIGHT
CHAPTER ONE
Dakota woke up and looked at the alarm clock next to his bed.
The red numbers shined, 7:55.
He sat up on the side of his bed and looked around the room.
He was happy that he didn’t have school today, but he wished the rain would stop falling.
Clay ran into Dakota’s bedroom, jumped on the bed, and yelled. IT’S HALLOWEEN!
Don’t get too excited it’s raining outside,
Dakota said as he slipped his slippers on and made his way out to the kitchen.
All that morning Dakota just sat in his room hoping that the rain would stop soon.
Later that afternoon Dakota knelt on the couch in the living room looking out the window as the rain fell outside.
Don’t worry. It will stop by tonight, I promise.
Dakota’s mother Christina said.
I know, dad told me the same thing,
Dakota said as he continued to stare out the window into the rain.
Just then, his little brother Clayton walked into the living room.
Mom, how long before we get to go trick-or-treating?
he asked.
We will be going tonight.
she replied.
Okay, when is Khloe coming over?
he asked.
Her mommy will be dropping her off in a little while.
she replied.
I don’t know why she’s coming over. I bet it’s going to rain all year.
Dakota said as he turned and sat on the couch.
It’s not going to rain all year, I promise you that. The weatherman on the news said that it’s not going to rain at all tonight. So you will be going trick-or-treating. It’s only four o’clock in the afternoon; I promise that it will stop raining by six.
Just then, Dakota’s father, Jason walked into the living room.
What’s wrong buddy?
his dad asked when he saw the sad look on Dakota’s face.
He thinks that it’s going to rain all year and that he will not be able to go trick-or-treating tonight.
His dad just laughed and said, It’s not going to rain tonight. Besides, even if it did we can go trick-or-treating at the mall. It will not be raining in there.
We get to go to the mall?
Clayton yelled.
No, we are not going to the mall. Your father said that we will go only if it’s going to rain tonight.
I hope it rains so that we can go to the mall,
Clayton said with a smile.
No, we don’t want it to rain Clay; we want to go trick-or-treating down the street like normal kids,
Dakota said.
Okay, but I still want to go to the mall.
Clay replied.
I’ll take you boys to the mall next weekend I promise. Now Clay, go get ready for your bath and then we are going to eat dinner.
Christina said.
Okay, mom,
Clay said as he left the living room and went to the bathroom.
I already had my bath,
Dakota said as soon as he saw his mother looking over at him.
Okay, keep an eye out for your aunt. She’s dropping Khloe off anytime now. And you better not be telling her that it’s going to rain all year either.
Christina said with a smile.
Thirty minutes later Dakota noticed his aunt’s car pull into the driveway.
MOM, KHLOE IS HERE!
he yelled to his mother in the kitchen.
"Okay, open the door so that her mom knows that we are here.
As Dakota stood in the doorway watching Khloe climb out of the back of her mother’s car, he noticed that she had her pet Bulldog Reggie with her.
After she kissed her mom goodbye, her mom yelled to Dakota, Tell your mom that I’ll call her in a little while.
Okay,
Dakota replied as Khloe and he walked into the house.
As they entered the house, he yelled to his mom that his aunt would be calling her soon.
Dakota noticed that Khloe was carrying a bag with her and asked, "So what’s
