Peter Blunt was a one man business operation. He hired out for enforcement by those who paid well. To his surprise he had enough money to retire. But, he wanted to remain as a space warrior. It was a job he knew and did well.

From the space platform he headed for a mining company wanting to hire someone with his professional skills. As he landed and walked on the mining planet his thoughts drifted and his mind contemplated the vast extremes of the universe and some of the last civilized space relief posts that dotted like new born stars. The fast interstellar passage aboard a commercial space ship took him to the region of space where the mining company he traveled to maintained a branch office. The small mining company compared the conglomerates was called Deep Caverns and had been looking for an enforcer for the industrial complex, but few well qualified individuals wanted the job. Peter Blunt talked to the executive in charge of contracts. As they walked and toured the office branch they reached the weapons room. One of the local security guards was in the room on duty and making sure all was in working order... The weapons room at this branch office was the main depository for all the weapons
