    Foreword

    Dear Reader,

I am very glad that you have found your way to this book, which is a Quick Guide for visiting and relocating to the Dallas & Fort Worth area. The purpose of this book is to give visitors or people who are relocating to the DFW Metroplex area a closer look to Top Sights and Fun things to do from an Insider perspective.

I relocated from Southern California to the DFW Metroplex in 2014.  When I talked to friends and associates from the L.A. area they always wanted to know what it is like living in the DFW Metroplex. To my surprise many still thought that everyone rode horses, carried pistols, and that JFK met his early demise here.  However, my perception of the DFW Metroplex is entirely different from someone who has never visited this area. Therefore, I sought out to write a book about the Dallas area that could help those who are visiting and/or relocating to this area to learn from an insider's perspective about fun things to do, great restaurants, and little bit about the culture here in North Texas.  There is so much to do in this area. Dallas is filled with: culture, creative arts, people, beautiful architecture, and excitement.

I hope you will find this book very helpful while planning your trip or big move to Texas.  Once you visit you'll find many hidden gems and places that you will enjoy.

Before you start your journey you must have information on the Toll Roads.

    ––––––––

The great thing about Texas is your toll tag is great for every city in Texas.  If you drive from Dallas to Houston your one toll tag will work.  It works all over Texas. You can also contact NTTA.org to verify the information. Once you arrive in the state of Texas you will notice there are many toll roads. These toll roads can save you a lot of time if the traffic is bad.  In many ways, it can help you get to your destination much faster.

However, there is a fee. If you don't have a toll pass what I've personally learned is that the cost is more expensive, because they will send you a bill in the mail. It usually has some sort of processing fee. The traffic in the Dallas/Fort Worth area is almost as congested as it is in Los Angeles. You will save money and time if you get a toll tag.  If you're not using the toll way all the time they offer a prepaid option where you can start with $20. There are some places such as Albertsons grocery stores, who sell the NTTA toll tags. There are also some local places where you can go inside and pay your bill such as Ace check cashing centers. However, it's easiest to simply contact the toll tag office and ask them any questions that you might have. Before you visit or relocate here you can at least drive on the road with assurance in knowing how the Texas toll roads work.
