About this ebook

'We with unveiled faces  . . . are transformed.'

God's words are an amazing promise and, equaly, a mysterious journey.

This first collection of poetry is the author's raw expression of her journey through life: challenges, heartbreak, hope and joy.

The poems cover many seasons but speak of a heart committed to finding God's way through this path of rubble and rainbows.

I’ve been writing since I could hold a pencil . . . which is miraculous considering I’m dyslexic. But God has a sense of humour and this is my voice. For too many years it has been a rejected feature of my identity; a talent buried in the rubble, hidden away from Gods' purposes, only brought out into the light when I needed a party trick. Now is the time to hand it all over to God.  I've spent decades writing though never giving myself over to the passion and commitment this gift truly needs to mature and have purpose. I’m not a saint. Yet I have experienced God forgiving me, walking with me, giving me strength when I really didn’t have any, helping me love, live and hope even when there was no reason to believe. This volume is a small token, an offering to you; the first pearl wrapped in brown paper. Mizpah

    Unveiled Faces - K. Rose

    2 Corinthians... first letter

‘WE WHO WITH UNVEILED faces...... reflect His glory...’

    Precious Lord,

If I let the veil fall

    they will see my bruises

fault line cracks in this clay jar

    running through the foundations

This internal tightrope I walk everyday

silken threads of fear and grief

    one fraying strand of hope

washed in a sheen of tears

I want them to see you

    Your grace

    Your love

    Your mercy

    As undeserved as it is

I will let them see my darkness

if it means they see your light.

    I LOVE YOU

    METER HIGH LETTERS

    Written in the sand

    When?

    Who?

    How?

Haven’t I just passed this way?

    Could’ve been written ages ago

    – it’s just above high tide

‘o’ ‘u’ are slightly washed out

    Golden sunset and golden beams

    Reflect in low-tide surface

I have poured out my grief and shame

at the foot of your sky...

    My Precious Lord

is this ‘I LOVE YOU’ your reply?

    Avalanche

    CRACKS BETWEEN THE rocks

    let the sunlight in

    Letting me see out

    Outside this cave

    this prison

    this sanctuary

    this tomb

I’ve watched while others have lived

Felt the warmth of the sun peeking

    through

    Reaching through

    Knocking a few pebbles

    More light comes in

    And the landslide shifts

But the light shows up the darkness

    Cobwebs

    dust

    Silt

    smeared mud across my face

dirt floor I crawl around in

    Shale ripping my knees

    The landslide shifts

More light streams in from above the mound

NO! NO! THAT’S TOO much !

They’ll see how dirty I am!

    Scurrying to find the pebbles

The rocks that will refill those gaps

    Rebuild the mound

    Rebuild the wall tall,

    Impenetrable

    Again
