Love The Second Time Around (Love Overcomes Virtually Everything) - Deavin Ross
INTRODUCTION
By Tiffany Ross
I know there are men, right now, who don’t feel like they are in their position of leadership. Contrary to many beliefs men want to be the head of their households. It’s their God-given place of dominion. Words cannot describe my sentiments about my husband, Deavin Ross, as the author of this book. He has endured and overcame many trials and tribulations within his lifetime. With that said, I believe that he has earned his stripes of sufferings, and God-given authority to publish this book and start a movement.
L.O.V.E. – The 2nd Time Around is a tool used to start a movement to transform the lives of men; those who may find themselves lost in a relationship or just need that spiritual guidance and direction in life as a man. Deavin has been specifically called by God to minister directly to the heart and soul of men. Therefore, this book will do more than motivate men, it will bring healing and restoration. We need our men to be in leadership positions to lead our women, households, and this world. Once men rise up, we will start seeing changes in our land, marriages, ministries, and churches. Deavin is the man who has stepped up to encourage others to do so.
Why am I so confident in his leadership abilities? Here is our story which lets me know that everything happens for a reason and it also defined the term soulmate
for me. Deavin and I actually crossed each other’s paths at several different points in time on our life’s journey not even imagining that we would end up being each other’s soulmate.
I came to know of Deavin well over 10 years ago as I was a regular customer of Enterprise, a local rental car place, where he worked. I would frequently rent cars from this particular location and Deavin was known as one of their leading sales reps. Vividly, I remember that he was into the things of God and church because around the second or third time I rented a car, he told me about his church because I lived in Aurora where it was. He never carried a flirtatious demeanor, but he would just tell everyone who came in that place about the goodness of God.
At that time, I was going through life experiencing my own fair share of issues, and I was definitely not at the point where I am now spiritually. Fast forward, we crossed paths about 4-5 times again over the years from visiting his church — not by invite by him but by my aunt who invited me unknowingly — to bumping into him at a local Walmart, to him interviewing for a job where I worked unbeknownst to him, and to by far the funniest final reconnection which was years later after I was divorced. A dear friend of mine, being funny, put me on a Christian dating website, which I was not actively participating in at the time. One day I happened to be cleaning out my junk email and in spam I saw that I had a message from the moderator of the website. I could not read the message because I did not have an active membership, however, I was able to see Deavin’s picture. I almost deleted it but because I recognized him I signed up just so I could read this message, which simply said, Hey, don’t I know you?
And the rest of course is history; a Divine Connection was made! We got caught up with each other lives and here we are today. I must mention, the first thing I said is, You owe me some money, bro
since I had to pay to view his message, LOL, but all I can say is Glory be to God Hallelujah; I’m reaping the harvest of that seed! LOL.
From the time I met him until the point where we reconnected, he was totally set on the Lord. From then until now, it has been all about Jesus. When we reconnected, he made it known to me that he was divorced but he had been separated from her for quite sometime. However, through that separation he did try to save his marriage. He prayed and believed that God was going to change her and the things around them so that the marriage would work out. As you read his story you will see that he had to let go of the fight. From then until now, he puts everything in God’s hands and trusts that God is in control.
During all those times of reconnecting, I didn’t know that he was going to be my husband. No one could have paid me a million dollars to believe otherwise. Deavin hears the voice of God and trusts His guidance. Later in our relationship, he told me that he knew when he first talked to me that I was a wife.
That’s exactly how he put it. To clarify, he did not say he thought I was his wife. However, he said that when he came into my presence that I carried myself as a wife. He remembered me being married and that I had a child, but he did not know that I had two more kids after that.
The final reconnection with Deavin was like a sigh of relief. I was about two years divorced, so it was not like I was on a mission to be married again. Over the next few months we talked on the phone every day. I’d hear him say, I don’t have a desire to date anyone or do all of that. I want to be married.
Deavin desired a wife and not just someone to play around with and date. During those months of getting to know each other we went out on a couple of dates which consisted of either breakfast or lunch; we never really went out in the evening. Our first evening date was my birthday of which he really impressed me. He took me to a fine dining venue and when he picked me up, he came with flowers and the whole Bath and Body Works store as a gift, LOL. Not literally, just lots of products, LOL. He loves this store.
I must mention I had an epic experience which I remember like it was yesterday. One particular day, Deavin told me that he could not talk to me for a few days. He wanted to fast from speaking with me so he could really get into the presence of God concerning me. I almost fainted; my heart dropped and I could have got offended. What was happening to me? Literally, we had spent hours talking every day now down to nothing. Well, all I can say it was worth the wait and that sealed the deal. Shortly after a week or so we resumed speaking and a couple months after he was on one knee proposing!
Yes, we got married very quickly. I always knew that Deavin wanted, needed, and required a wife because of the way he treated me which made me feel very secure about marrying him. Although my mindset was still in wife mode, I wasn’t looking to get married. It was totally unexpected. He was not anxious, but right away he invited me out to speak with his pastor which impressed me. Deavin was very respectful in that he would not allow us to be together alone. If we went somewhere it had to be in public. If he visited me at my home it would be outside talking. He did not want to put himself in a comprising position especially during the evenings when he wanted to see me. That’s how much he honored God. The way he made me feel as a woman was amazing; almost unreal. Deavin was the total opposite of everyone and everything that I had ever encountered. When women read this book, they will face reality. They’re really going to see what a true man of God is and looks like, not a sugared-coated version. Women are going to see the difference between a genuine man versus someone who wears
