About this ebook

Enthusiasm for and interest in alternative medicine is at a fever pitch all over the world. The public has been constantly exposed to personal situations where side-effects from pharmaceuticals have created serious health problems for themselves or their loved-ones.

We are all being relentlessly bombarded by law firm sponsored TV commercials looking for victims of pharmaceutical side-effects. Then we have to endure a steady stream of pharmaceutical commercials and their ghastly list of side effects like "suicidal thoughts, some cancers have been reported, blindness, etc." Can you blame the public for seeking alternatives?

Sauciron, the author of two previous books on alternative health, has produced his third in the series. It consists of 35 Vitamin, Herbal, and Holistic Supplement reviews. He also details the prevention and treatment of 20 of our most common ailments.

    Introduction

I was channel surfing a while back and I came upon the Animal Planet Channel. They were doing a special on venomous snake bites so I decided to watch since I live in the Southwest region of the United States where there are four species of venomous snakes located.

The scene opens where a man is video recording his wife in their back yard in Southern Arizona. Since she was being recorded she decided to show her prize winning garden. Her husband moved in closer as she pointed out how well her tomato plants were doing. At that point she decided to pick one of the ripe tomatoes to display it for the camera. As she reached into a densely foliated area to pick one of the tomatoes she was promptly bitten on the finger by a rattlesnake. She quickly withdrew her hand to inspect the bite, it didn’t look that bad. But to be on the safe side her husband took her to the emergency room.

The doctor asked them what type of snake had bitten her and they told him it was a rattlesnake. He left the room and shortly returned with a vile of snakebite serum specifically for rattlesnakes. He gave her a shot and told her to lie down for a few minutes. He left the room again. When he returned he had some forms for her husband to sign admitting his wife to the hospital. The husband asked why such a seemingly minor event required a hospital stay? The doctor replied we want to keep her under observation to make sure she has no adverse reactions to the shot

So the husband left the hospital expecting to return the next day and take his wife home. When he returned the next day and entered his wife’s room he was shocked to see several doctors and nurses feverishly administering to his wife’s wounded hand which had swollen considerably. The doctor informed him that they had given her another shot but the hand was continuing to swell. The husband later stated that he had assumed he would be taking his wife home when he returned the next day. But that was clearly not going to happen.

In the following days the hand continued to swell and the woman was moved to the intensive care section and the possibility of her losing her hand was becoming a serious consideration. After five days in intensive care, numerous shots, and prayers from friends and family, the swelling subsided, and the threat of amputation was over. I can’t even imagine how serious this situation would have been if the bite were into her arm or other areas where there would have been deeper fang penetration. The doctor was later interviewed and said the woman received nine shots at a cost of $550 per shot.

So my next question is what did the Native American Indians do when they were bitten by rattlesnakes? And what are the native South American Indians in the Rain Forest doing now when they are bitten by some of those very dangerous snakes in the Amazon. They are probably using herbal remedies handed down from generation to generation for centuries.

This book is devoted to informing you of the good things a healthy diet, vitamins, herbs, and minerals can do for your everyday health. Use it as a reference guide and keep it handy.

    A Note to The Reader

Mainstream medicine used to be the primary treatment the general public relied on for all treatment of illness, disease, and injuries. Now-a-days, if you are injured in a car accident or fall off a ladder and break your leg, you seek mainstream medical attention. But for other issues like fighting the flu, slowing the aging process, fighting the effects of multiple sclerosis and other similar ailments, a holistic approach has been gaining in popularity.

The reasons for the public's growing mistrust of pharmaceuticals are a distaste of some of the horrendous side effects that frequently accompany the use of those pharmaceuticals. Side effects like suicidal thoughts, long term injury, loss of vision, some cancers have been reported, to name just a few.

The goal of this book is to inform you of natural remedies and therapies that can be instrumental in preventing and healing many of the ailments that affect us on a daily basis.

This book is divided into three sections, Supplements, Ailments, and Healthful Information. The supplement section is comprised of product reviews of vitamins, herbs, minerals, and enzymes. All from Mother Nature's Inventory and 99% side effect free. The Ailment Section is comprised of some of our most common ailments. Some of these ailments result from contact with animals and reptiles. Other ailments are the result of an immune system that is functioning at less than peak efficiency. The Healthful Information Section consists of various articles designed to inform and educate you in the art of self preservation using holistic methods.

You have a world of valuable information at your fingertips which will show you how to restore and enhance your health resulting in a longer high quality of live. The knowledge you will obtain from consuming the contents of this book will make you a healthier more independent person.

It's commonly known that herbal medicines have considerably fewer and less intensive side effects than their pharmaceutical counterparts. Herbal supplements can still cause problems if improperly used, however. So follow these basic rules for safe use.

    1.   Be well informed. Read about the supplement before you take it. Reading this book is a good source of that important information.

    2.   Always start with the lowest dosage and make note of any adverse bodily reactions.

    3.   If you experience any adverse symptoms within 8 hours of taking any supplement, discontinue use of that supplement.

    4.   People over the age of 65 should stick to the dosage at the low end of the suggested range when starting.

I hope you find the information in this book helpful. I have also written a book on holistic women's health titled Holistic Medicine For Women's Health. A book for all women and the men who love them. For more information go to www.VitaminAndHerblHealth.com

    About The Author

Back in the 1990's my stepfather died, leaving my mother alone in their two story house. She had fallen in the past and I was constantly worrying about her falling in the house alone. I asked her if she would like to move in with me and she gave me the typical mother answer. No I don't want to be a burden.

A few months later, we both came to the conclusion that she could not function efficiently without help. We were both totally against sending her to a nursing home, so I insisted she move in with me.

She had a few physical challenges like an arthritic knee and arthritic hip which
