About this ebook

One night stands aren’t Sophie Reece’s style, except for that time three months ago. She’d thrown caution to the wind and had wild crazy sex with a hot stranger—no strings attached. She’d never see him again, right? Wrong.

When Sophie finds herself on assignment in Iceland with none other than the very man she can’t forget—hot shot millionaire Daniel Balderas—she can only hope he won’t recognize her. But translating requires she remain close to him at all times, and the memories of their night together stoke a fire she can’t resist.

    Chapter One

Sophie Reece’s heart leapt in her chest. She never imagined she’d set eyes on him again. The thought was too humiliating and painful. Yet, there was no doubt only feet away was the man she spent the night with three months ago.

When the translation company requested she take on the three-day assignment to accompany, as they put it, a demanding businessman to Iceland, it hadn’t entered her head the man she’d be working with could be him. But there he was. Daniel Balderas. As brooding and handsome as she remembered, he sat nonchalantly in the VIP departure lounge of London City Airport.

A nervous frisson washed over her. Or was it excitement? What if he recognized her? What if he didn’t? Sophie couldn’t decide which was worse, but she did know he wouldn’t take kindly to a woman who had treated him like she had.

He wouldn’t recognize her. It was impossible. The night she met him she looked entirely different. Reeling from finding out her fiancé was cheating, she had made an effort to dress up and gone out with her sister on a mission to have some fun. With Daniel Balderas, she found it.

That was a million miles away from the bare-faced, ponytailed girl she was today. In her conservative gray blazer, white shirt, and knee-length skirt, she couldn’t look less like the city party girl he met that night. Besides, a man like Daniel Balderas had to have his pick of women. Her stomach sank. The few hours they spent together, however memorable they’d been for her, probably meant nothing to him.

Concentrate on the job, Sophie, she muttered under her breath. This could be the most challenging assignment of your career. He won’t even remember you. She straightened, rolled back her shoulders, and walked toward him, ponytail swinging in a way she hoped showed more confidence than she felt.

His head was bowed toward the newspaper in his lap. His shoulders were broad, his legs long and lean, and from his thick, jet-black hair and olive skin, it was clear Daniel Balderas had Mediterranean blood pumping through his veins.

Sensing he had company, he looked up
