    Mind Dimension 2

This Story is about two Concorde pilots who in Mind Dimension in my second book Vision of the Future, who when in the cockpit of Concorde, were pulled away from Concorde to help the Greek God Cronus the Ruler of New Peloponnesian Empire. To help drive back Cyclopes back down to the underworld into the cave of volcano Mount Aetna in Sicily.

Their name’s, John Guest First officer flying Concorde and other larger Airline passenger jets, also one Second officer Ron White Concorde and other large Airliners.

The year is approaching 2023, Concorde brought back in the year 2020 they have not been together on a flight since the day that they were flying from Heathrow International to New York. When they had to help the Greek God Kronus, also known has Cronus, rid the Cyclopes of his domain to bring tranquillity to his regime.

Wednesday 21st of December and John Guest is at Heathrow in the Staff room looking at the rostrum for the flights that day. John is on a short haul flight to Spain and he turns the page and looks at Thursday 22nd rota and his eyes light up when he sees.

Heathrow to New York Concorde 9.30am John Guest and Ron White co-pilot.

Well I will be dammed my old mate Ron, have not seen you since.

Then John had this feeling inside and he is saying to himself. The run-in with Cyclopes and Greek Gods. No way which that could happen again.

He smiles and goes to meet the rest of his flight crew for that day.

The flight to Spain and back is straight forward drop off in Spain one hour turn round and the flight back.

He is done for the day and off home to his wife Margaret for they are going for a meal with friends at their local that evening.

He parks up in his under ground garage and goes through the front door and there to greet him is his wife Margaret.

Hi Sweetheart had a good flight today. planting a kiss on John.

"Yes straight forward and you will never guess who is on the flight deck with me tomorrow.

With it being Christmas Santa. Margaret, smiling back at John.

No my old Mate, Ron White First Officer.

God we’ve not seen Ron and his wife for ages, you will have to give my love to him and his wife Ruth.

Will do, and let’s forget about that and enjoy Christmas dinner tonight, I’m looking forward to it. Boy the flight tomorrow and back, then we can really get Christmas under way for I’ve got the whole of Christmas off. John sitting back in his chair and looking at the news on the TV.

The next morning John is up at 6am and into the bathroom for shower and grooming himself so he looks presentable for the morning’s flight. Dressed in his flying Uniform, and standing looking in the mirror, brushing himself down. When Wife Margaret wakes with the bedroom light shining in her eyes and tells John.

For Gods sake turn that bloody light off, some of us don’t have to be up in the middle of the night.

Sorry sweetheart I’m off now see you tonight and then we can get the holiday feeling off to a good start. Love you babe. He plants a kiss on Margaret and turns and opens the door.

I love you to John have a good one and drive carefully. Margaret still half asleep.

    Fly sweetheart fly.

Get gone and leave me alone. Walking back to the bed John smiles at her gently rubbing her head then, heads down stairs for a little serial before he goes. He turns just before he turns the light off and smiles at Margaret and clicks the light switch. Back in darkness Margaret gives a big sigh.

Breakfast over and at 6.30am he is in the car and heading down the road for Heathrow International. The journey is only one hour and he arrives at Heathrow by 7.30am and heads for the Staff room were all the flyers and cabin crew congregate before their flight.

John walks in and looks round the room and sitting reading the morning paper is Ron, John walks over to him and puts his hand on Ron’s paper and pulls it down so Ron can see him. Ron looks up and sees John.

Well—well my old mate John how you doing mate, it’s been a long time and what about that good lady of yours Margaret.

Fine thanks and what have you been up to this last year and a bit, I would have thought you would have been a First Officer by now.

You know me John not one for pushing myself, and anyway I’m happy with what I do and the money I don’t` really need the extra.

That’s my man, anyway ready for the trip to New York, day in Manhattan buy the wife a Christmas box and flight back home for Christmas. John stands thinking of the rest and fun of the holiday.

No I hate this time of year hustle and crazy shoppers you know screaming kids and new toys.

Well come on scrooge lets check the bird we are flying.

They go out of the staffroom with the rest of the cabin crew to head for Concorde and the start of their pre-flight checks. Once on the parking lot of Concorde the cabin crew board while John and Ron go on the outside checking Concorde. They are looking at the back end of Concorde when Ron said to John.

I’ve this funny feeling of that we have gone through this before. Ron suddenly stops and looks straight at John.

What are you talking about and what the hell are you looking at. John feeling unease at what Ron had said.

You don’t need me to tell you this thing that happened over 18 months ago, you know Cronus and those Cyclopes. Ron looking round to make sure no one is in hearing range.

Stop it now that is an order, that’s in the past and I don’t think anything like that will happen again. Now its Johns turn to feel unease.

They continue to check the outside of Concorde wings and wheels, they already know that the wings are frost free with the temperature being 6 degrease.

They start to walk up the steps to board Concorde when John suddenly stops at the top of the steps and hears a voice saying.

You need us we will come. He turns to Ron and asked.

What are you on about? Ron looks back at John and tells him.

Me what are you on about?

Forget it lets get this show in the air, excuse the pun. Ron shrugs his shoulders and follows John onto the flight deck.

They sit there and are going through all the pre-flight checks and inputting all the flight details for their trip to New York.

The flight time with head winds and the time difference we will land at the same time we take off, my calculations are with the time difference of 5 hours and the flight time this morning of 3 hours at mac2 we will land at the same time we take off. That will be nice for the passengers who are just going for the shopping and Christmas presents. With a 5pm USA time take off return flight they will be back home for 1am. Ron looking down the passenger list and telling John.

Yes and what they pay for their flight you can tell that’s why we have not got average Joe on board out of the hundred passengers. Just look at some of the celebrities we are taking. John taking a quick glance at the list. Then over the intercom comes a message from the control tower.

Flight 399 Heathrow to JFK International you are clear to taxi to runway 2.

This is flight 399 to New York understood and starting pushback for runway 2. Concorde is starting to pushback by the tow truck and Ron is watching from his window. His arm is on the controls and his sleeve is rising up when John looks and he see the 4 inch scare that he received when they were fighting the Cyclopes and he suddenly had this feeling that someone is walking across his grave. For the goosepimply are on his arm.

He sits rubbing his arm when Ron looks and sees him.

Are you alright John? Ron looking at him and smiling.

Yes fine. Then he is back on the intercom to control tower.

Control tower any final instructions on take off.

Control tower to flight 399 at 1000.00 ft turn left and keep climbing to 32 thousand feet for clearance of flight paths and start your flight for super sonic at 52 thousand ft.

Received and understood. John starts to pull back on the controls to take Concorde to runway 2. They line up and wait for final instructions from the control tower.

Flight 399 cleared for take off and have a safe journey and will see you tonight, control tower out.

Thanks tower and this is flight 399 starting full power for take off over and out. John and Ron are both holding the throttles when John tells Ron.

Full power. They both pull back on the throttles and Concorde with one mighty roar starts to move down the runway. Faster and faster then John looks at the speed and tells Ron.

And rotate. John pulls back the joy stick and Concorde rises majestically into the morning sky, after only a few seconds’ and Concorde is at 1000.feet and John starts to turn to the left. Concorde breaks through the clouds and starts to head upwards for its approach to flight path to go super sonic. 52 thousand feet Ron lifts the nose cone on Concorde and John applies the afterburners and Concorde starts to reach supper sonic speed.

They sit adjusting switches and John flicks the switch and Concorde goes into auto pilot.

All done Ron, now for the boring bit.

What are you going to do go and introduce you’re self to the passengers. Ron looking at John with a grimace on his face.

    Well if I must.

"John is about to stand when all of a sudden he flops back into his seat and he had gone to sleep. Ron looks at John and is about to comment when he to just closed his eyes and he too had gone to sleep.

    Chapter Two

They wake and both are standing in the blue mist again and Ron looks at John and tells him.

Not a bloody second time, and don’t think that I’m going to wear those stupid little mini white skirt and breast plate of gold. I looked a proper blonker. John burst out laughing he can just see him the first time when he put the mini skirt on and John thought he looked fetching.

God I wonder what he won’t us to-do this time. They both stand there and this time the feeling of drowning did not happen, when in the distance they could see a figure floating towards them getting larger all the time.

It’s the God Cronus. They both lower their heads at seeing him, and Cronus addresses them.

"My good friends John and Ron I see you’re still flying that big bird in the sky still, and don’t ask me Ron for you know that you are still on this so called Concorde flying to New York.

Why have you called us again, not Cyclopes and Titans again? Cronus stands laughing at them.

No It’s my turn to help you with you’re problem, for this time I’m returning the favour.

Help us, please explain. looking at Cronus John with a look of disbelieve.

Well you see my friends it’s your future that is about to change and in reality it could happen to yourselves if you don’t stop him.

Well by now John and Ron are totally confused with the whole scenario.

To put it bluntly this man from the future is going back in time and stealing artefacts of value and if he takes the wrong thing, then it could change history and some of the people of the future will not exist, that could include you.

Where is he now and how will we know him. John asking Cronus.

You’re first question his he is in the year 1912, and secondly you will know him for he will stick out from the rest. When you find him you must deter him that if he does it again you will terminate him, which should put him off is wave of crime. All John and Ron do is look at each other, and Cronus sees this.

You must go and be assured that the Gods will be looking after you, and don’t fail or there could be bad correctness in the future.

Cronus starts to fade away backwards and John and Ron at the same time start to disappear.

They emerge on a wooden deck and the first thing that John and Ron noticed is the smell of the wooden deck and the newness.

Boy looks at this the deck it’s made of pine and teak, just breath in and the smell of newness. This must be brand new and where are we. Ron totally engrossed with where he had appeared, and then he looks at John and starts to laugh and point at him.

Look at your cloths you look like you have materialised in the early nineteenth century.

"Never mind me turn round and look into the door window and look at yourself. Well Ron turns and looks at himself reflecting back at him and he sees what he had on. For he had plus fours and a coat that you would not be seen dead in, and the hat it was only a deerstalker…

Not again just look at me; I look like a proper blonker this time.

Ron that was all the rage in the early 1912 period. John trying to contain himself at seeing Ron. Then John looks round and he noticed that they were on board an ocean going liner.

Wait a minute. He goes to the railings on the outer deck and looks up and what he sees made him say.

My God come and look at this. He stands with mouth open and Ron comes and looks to where John is looking and to greet them is four smoking chimneys and John asks Ron.

You know where we are, don’t you.

Yes we are at sea why.

We are on the one and only Titanic, God she sank on her maiden voyage. Now it’s Ron’s turn to stand gob smacked at what he had been told.

This Titanic if I remember right only had four chimneys but all four are smoking. Ron looking up and seeing smoke coming out of all four chimneys. Then John tells him.

"Yes you’re right but they only made three for the engines they made the forth to make her look like the only one in existence to have four, and look majestic compared to other Ocean going liners. And also did you know that they named Titanic from derived Greek mythology and meant gigantic. She was built in Belfast, Ireland in the United Kingdom. And the Titanic was ship 401, the second of the three Olympic-class ocean liners. The first was the RMS Olympic, and the third was the HMHS Britannic. They were by far the largest vessels; the cost for the first two of £3 million for the class Olympic-class ships was agreed.

By White Star Line’s a British Shipping Company."

Don’t tell me that you also studied about Titanic at University also boy it must have helped you to fly Concorde. When Ron was saying this a passenger is passing and asked.

Excuse me what is this Concorde. Then John butts in.

Excuse me Sir what is the date.

Why it’s the 10th of April we left Southampton 3 hours ago, my you must admire the Ship of Dreams, to be on a Ship that is unsinkable. The Man looking out to sea, while taking in the air.

    That’s what you think mate.

Ron shut it don’t go upsetting this kind Gentleman, you must ignore my comrade he’s been at the alcohol since we boarded. I do apologise on his behalf.

Accepted. You would not think that a First Class passenger would get that way. Well the Gent walked off with his nose in the air and all that Ron did is put you know up at him.

Ron pack it in we have only 4 days to find this guy and yes The Titanic was an interest I had at Uni.

5 days, it sinks on the 15th.

Yes and the reason for this, she hit the iceberg on the 14th and sank on the 15th, you know the International Date Line. In the U.K it sank at 1.40 am on the 15th, but in the USA it sank on the 14th.

Yes I’m with you now, that leaves us only four days but how the hell are we going to find this so called man from the future.

"Well for one he will be in First class, I don’t think he would find much of value in the lower class, so that narrows it down to just 833 First class passengers. They are both on the A. deck also called the Promenade Deck it extended along the entire 546 feet length of the superstructure; this is reserved exclusively for First Class passengers. That contained First class cabins, the First class Lounge, smoke room, reading and writing rooms and Palm Court. John and Ron are walking along and they turn into the First class Lounge. They enter and sit for John had something to tell Ron.

Look what I have in my pocket. John pulls out a First class ticket for two in cabin 4. Just when he is about to tell Ron more, when a waiter comes up to them and asked what they would like to drink. Well Ron with out thinking tells the waiter.

Pint of Larger Carlsberg if you have it. Well John straight away tells the waiter.

Take no notice of him he’s out of his mind two coffees if you please white.

Very well Sir, your order will be straight out what room please.

    Bill Cabin room 4, please.

Thank you Sir. The waiter looking at Ron with the look of that he thought he is a little eccentric.

Ron you have to be more careful what the hell was you thinking, telling him to bring you a Carlsberg. Larger was not invented yet.

I’m sorry but how the hell do you think I feel it’s hard you just forget. You appear to be more into this then me. Well Ron rises and goes and stands on the Promenade deck and leans on the rail looking out to sea. After about ten minutes John comes out with the coffee and passes Ron his drink.

Thanks John. He takes a sip out of his cup and he is still looking out to sea.

"Look at this the calm of the water and the newness of the ship, who would think we are in 1912. The only difference is all the funny cloths, and this lot up on First Class are really stuck up.

Look if you can try and get into this for we are both in this together and if we work hard and solve this matter, the sooner we will be back flying Concorde and Christmas in 2023. John patting Ron on the back."

You’re right sorry and cheers. Ron holding up his coffee and clicking it next to Johns cup. They drink their coffee and John tells Ron that we will go and find our cabin and see what’s in it." They go and they see the sign for cabins 1-30, they go and go to room 4. Well the smell that they had when they entered, brand new and the aroma from the new carpet and furniture made them feel like Kings.

You would not believe we are in the year 1912, just look at this. John flicking on the light then turning it off.

Yes but where are the TV and Sky Sports. Ron standing arms out stretched.

Ron we are. Then Ron interrupts.

Only kidding. John picks up a pamphlet that shows them the lay out of Titanic, and all the layout of bars restaurant and entertainment on board.

Just imagine all these passengers going on this Ocean Liner with all this newness and being told that they are on a ship that is unsinkable, they are unaware about their fate. What we have to do is in my opinion is dine in the La Carte Restaurant and move onto the Café Parisian.

Fine by me, I’m going to have a bath first and freshen up, before we go.

Ok let’s get ready. John while Ron s in the bathroom looks in the wardrobe and he is surprised that it is full of allsorts of evening ware, even their flying uniform are hanging Ron comes out of the bathroom and John tells him to help himself to what he would like for that evening.

They have both dressed and look very fetching for two young men travelling on their own on the most fantastic Ocean going Liners of it’s time the TITANIC.

    Chapter Three

    Titanic leaving Southampton.

On the 10th of April 1912.

Being towed by, the Harbour Master. Into deeper water for her maiden voyage to New York.

    RMS_Titanic_2.jpg

They leave their room and Ron asked.

Where are we going to start first?

With us being First class let’s just explore the leisure facilities they have on Titanic, we have all-night to look for this so called time traveller.

They first go to the famous Grand Staircase which connected Boat deck and E deck. They are both amazed at the size and superb glamorous features; Ron is amazed and looks up to the top of the dome and the wrought iron frame and glass that admitted natural light.

John just looks up at the view the full moon and all the stars flickering. Ron just stopped and could not take is eyes of the grand view he had before him.

You can tell why they called it the ship of dreams, just imagine back home some Titanic enthusiast would give their right arm to be in how shoes so enjoy the moment.

They spend well over 1 and a half hours walking the ship, they go down to the gymnasium on the boat deck, the library, and smoking rooms. Then Ron tells John.

OK Livingstone enough exploring for one night lets have a drink.

They go into one of the first class bars and the first thing they noticed on entering is the waiter service to escort them to their seating area. The waiter opened hand points to their seat, well Ron sits and he is well impressed with the fine furnishing and wood panels.

What is you’re desire Gentleman. The waiter waiting for their drinks order.

    Do you do large beers?

Yes Sir we do but seldom are asked for those sorts of drinks with them not British ales.

Well you will find that you will this Voyage. John smiling back at him.

They sit there and they are looking at the others, with both John and Ron clean shaven they did stand out from the other men who seemed to have all sorts of moustache and beards. Ron turns to John and tells him.

I see what you mean about this guy from the future; there is no way he would look like any of this lot. God talk about old fashion.

Well let’s hope we find him before you know what. Just when John had finished the waiter returns and puts the two beers down, stands and asks John for his room number.

Room 4 and had sixpence for yourself.

Well thank you Sir. With what John had said Ron nearly chokes on his beer, the waiter looks at Ron and walks of with his nose in the air. Well Ron burst out laughing at what John had said.

    And had sixpence for yourself.

I’ll have you know sixpence goes a long way in 1912. John still looking round at the passengers, they are there for about 40 minutes and no one had come in looking like someone from the future. Then John tells Ron.

Drink up lets go and join the first class passengers in the main First class dinning room, I think this will open you’re eyes to snobbery. They drink up and head for the main dinning area.

They arrive and are escorted to their table when John notices on the Captains table there were about eight people sitting talking to Captain Smith of the Titanic, John nudges Ron and when they are sitting down tells him.

"Look there the one and only Captain Edward J. Smith. You know you have must have read all about him, he went down with the Titanic standing on the bridge. Well Ron looking and did not catch sight of him and he looks at John and asked.

Where am I looking there are hundreds in here. Ron looking round and not spotting him.

Over there you must be blind the big round table he’s in uniform the one with a white beard, boy we must have dinner with him it would be the highlight of this adventure.

Ron looks and you could tell with
