Brigid II: The Transporting Device Is Reinvented

About this ebook
The President of the United States is fighting an election campaign to serve a second term in office. Polls show he might lose if an election were to be held in the near future. (He doesn’t want to be remembered as one of only a few Presidents that only lasted one term in Office).
Frank Lyon has a “Eureka” moment. He will lobby the President with the Transporting Machine (he nicknames it “Brigid II”) proposal: one that can save the environment from the Greenhouse Gas emissions that occur when airplanes fly in the sky. “Brigid II” can transport the equivalent of a planeload of people without airplanes flying in the sky.
The President adopts the proposal and uses it as a platform for his re-election campaign. During the campaign, the majority of the electorate find the proposal so appealing that he is elected for a second consecutive term.

About the Author
Part I: Frank Lyon Reinvents The Transporting Device
Frank Lyon is on his couch in front of his flat-screen T.V. on New Year’s Eve of 2003. The channel is tuned in on Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve live from Time’s Square in New York City.
The sight he is viewing on T.V. leaves an impression on him. That is because two short years earlier, he had been at that very sight ringing in the New Year of 2002.
He turns his head and glances at the picture of his late wife, Brigid. A tear trickles down his cheek, as he is disappointed by the fact she wasn’t there to share the moment then or now. In spirit, he can hear her say, Hey, Frankie, do you think we’re the best looking couple at Time’s Square tonight?!
He can’t help but chuckle when he replies, Honey, we’re always the best looking couple, no matter where we are!
At this moment, the final countdown begins with the ball dropping down ushering in the New Year: ’10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1...Happy New Year...! A hand is suddenly placed on his shoulders. It is his son, Jimmy, who passes his father a glass of champagne by saying [sounds awkward]: ‘Here, Dad, let us toast to health and happiness in the year 2004."
Frank drinks the glass of champagne, rises from his chair, and hugs his son and says: All the best to you, son, for the New Year, also.
Frank Lyon once again hears Brigid talking from above: These are two fine gentlemen I’m looking down on. Wish I was there!
Frank replies: You are here in spirit, honey!
Frank replies by saying: To your departed mom, Jimmy, she’s with us in spirit!
Jimmy replies: That she is. Say
hello to her for me.
Frank says: That I will do!
The New Year is barely half an hour old, and already CNN reports that there is the first murder of 2004. Frank is disgusted with
