A CRUEL EVER AFTER

Groggily peeling my eyes open, I was met with the excited face of my mum Nicola, 42. ‘Come on, rise and shine!’ she beamed. ‘I’m getting married today!’
It was 13 September 2018, and Mum was due to walk down the aisle to marry her childhood sweetheart Jason, 42.
They had got together when they were teenagers, but it hadn’t lasted.
Years later, in 2006, they reconnected on Facebook – sparks flew again and they’d been together ever since.
My sister Rhiannon, 26, and I adored Jason, and were so thrilled when in 2016, he asked Mum to marry him.
We were both going to be bridesmaids, and Jason had even enlisted my help choosing a ring!
