This book is dedicated,
with all my love,
to those of you who complained
the first one was not dedicated to you.
Perceiving You
I heard you
As water dripping
On a silver basin
The crisp tone
Arresting my drift.
I watched you
As a current
Sloshing through
My stirring heart.
I felt you
Conveying love
Wholeheartedly
Blind to the risks.
I listened
While you weaved
Words from the heart
To transform my mind.
I saw you
Quickly walk away
Disappointed
Thinking you had failed
A Face of Many Colors
A face of many colors stared at me
As I walked down the street.
In reds and greens the cheeks shone bright
The nose was yellow, purple the forehead,
The band of neck I saw was navy blue.
A face such as I never saw before
Stared at me with eyes so full of light
That all the colors suddenly combined
To appear as plain as our familiar flesh.
A Fairy Moon
A fairy moon shone up above
When you deserted me.
I gazed at you from my front porch
Until you disappeared.
I thought about your dreamy eyes
My mind full of concern
No doubt there was some witchery
Some magic in the night.
I sat alone in my front porch
Considering my fate
While you were far away from me
Under the whimsy light.
The moon kept shining happily
