Through the Storm - Priscilla Akua Boakye
WARMTH
How nice to walk into warmth
An escape from the cold outside
The chill that numbs the toes and fingers
And my spine within
How good it is to feel
The body heat up again
And the numbness in the extremities wane
It is like a revival, an awakening
But even better is another kind of warmth
The warmth that makes life worth living
The warmth that gives
Hope and encouragement
It is the warmth of a smile
The warmth from the eyes
Reflecting something good from the inside
The warmth of a touch
A soft caress of affection
It is the warmth of a soft voice
Whispering in the ear
Words of love
Words of peace and comfort
The warmth of an embrace
Shielding you from the coldness out there
Yes, the warmth of another
The warmth of love
That gives a sense of belonging
The warmth that assures you
That you are always welcome, always loved
It is the warmth of the Saviour’s love
YET, MY SOUL WILL SING
When the wind blows hard against me
And I cannot find my feet
When I am floating in the unknown
Pondering over what lies ahead
All my soul will sing is,
Blessed be the name of the Lord
!
When I close my eyes
And I am not sure of what I see
Yet in fear to open them
For what confronts me
Still my eyes will behold the Lord
And my soul will sing,
O Lord You are beautiful
!
When my senses go
