I have always enjoyed writing things. Over the years, I have written many projects, a video production called a Dance-Drama. "Where Does it Stop", an alternative school program, a business plan, and numerous grants. I always had something that motivated me to write. Back in June of 2012, I was about to get laid off from my job of nearly 15yrs. It was the 4th. time in as many years. I told myself that I was so sick of putting my life in someone's else's hands, and that made a flash go off in my head. I thought of something I could do without anyone, or anything except me. I asked myself, what could I do that required no place I had to drive, no money, and took nothing but me. That was in June, and in that month we had a bad storm that knocked out my power out. As I sat on my porch and was in Total darkness, I watched as my neighbors power started to come back on, but mine didn't. I asked myself this question, "How On Earth " can we have all this technology, and I can't get my power back on in a timely fashion. I thought of something I could do without anyone but me. As I said, I have written a lot, but never for the pleasure of writing. This is my first attempt. That night, this story came to me, all three books, I even knew the title of all three books. I knew everything about the story told in three books. The first ten pages were written by candlelight, and a bottle of Crown Royal, but the story you have here is the one that came to me that night, I hope you enjoy it.

CHAPTER 1

WHAT IS THAT?

T.J. landed three or four hundred meters from the object on that first trip.

Will, is that what I think it is? Dad, it looks like the end of a boomerang. It’s buried in the Lunar surface. I think it could be the wing of some kind of ship or vessel. I’ve never seen a wing of any ship or vessel that big Will. Neither have I Sean. Jason, Eric, what do you think, could that be some kind of ship or machine? The two young men look intensely I dont know dad, it could be. Will, do you think if it is a machine of some kind, it could be operational? Well P.J., we’re gonna answer one of those questions right now, let’s suit up.

Will, I guess you know you’re not suiting up without me, right. Wouldn’t think of it old friend. Anna motions to the girls Prepare Dark Suits. Dark Suits, as they refer to them, are space suits designed specificly for the ridgetly cold tempatures of craters and the dark side of the moon. Sharon and Anya left to prepare the suits. Dari looked at her husband. You three are getting to old for this kind of thing Sean. Have’nt you heard Dari, 40’s is the new 20’s, or something like that. You wish. Dad, would you have thought on the 4th of July when we all were at P.J.’s that we would all be on a shuttle going to the dark side of the Lunar surface. No princess, not in a million years. I’d give anything to be sitting pool side again. As Maya saids those words, she drifts back in her mind the last time all 15 of them were at P.J.’s Costa Rica villa.

JULY 4 2026

Everyone had been flown to Costa Rica on P.J.’s lear jet, her treat. The whole group had toured parts of the island and was at P.J.’s villa over looking the ocean. The boys were on the beach playing sand football, the girls were at pool side soaking up sun, and Will, Sean, P.J., Dari, and Anna were on the patio looking out to the pool at the girls. They could see the boys playing at a distance in the back round of the large swimming pool. The atmosphere was very relaxed. None of them had had a day off in months. The couples and Anna were having wine and feeling the ocean breeze. The girls lay in their bikinnis in lounge chairs talking about a number of topics. Sharon, you guys, I don’t know how you do it. I don’t know if I could constantly live in danger. You know Maya, it’s really not that bad most of the time. Yeah Maya, we generally know who our enemy is, and we see a lota hot guys too. Really Anya, I can’t remember the last time I’ve hung out with any one, much less a bunch of hot guys. You problably had’nt had much time, with your research and all. Ya know Oshi, when my mom got sick, it was emotionally the worst time in my life. Everything got pushed to the side, saving her became my only goal. Guys used to ask me out, but I had no time for dating. Not even once Maya? No Maria, not once. You really gave up a lot for your mom, wow!

Yeah, but she was my mom, it was’nt a choice. I’m sorry Maya, I know how much you loved your mom. I guess it would have been worth it, if I had actually been able to save her. That’s sad, the doctor that cured cancer could’nt even save her own mother. OK Maria, let’s talk about something other than Aunt Kate. Sorry Jessie, so, how do you, Jason and Eric like working on Lunar 1? The station is awsome, as big as a small state, people from all over the world working side by side, all the things on earth except air and water. We have restaurants, department stores, hospitals and even a park. What about party places, any? Oh Shar, that’s all you think about. It’s not hard when most of our assignments start in places like that. You guys go all over the world, what’s that like Anya, one day D.C., next day Sudan, that must be very exciting. It has it’s moments. How long do you think P.J. will do this, I mean, dad really misses her a lot when you guys go on assignment. Look at them over there, they are really good together. I know Oshi, dad loves her so much, he lights up every time he sees her. That’s what dad did before he died. Anya, what was your dad like? A lot like yours, but wanted to remain a soldier. He thought the war was his personal responsiblity. He never wanted to leave anyone in Iraq or Afganistan. He said he could’nt rest until he made certain both the wars were completely over and all our troops were home. Your dad must have been some kind of soldier. He was, and mom hurt for a long time. Will is what dad used to be. Like P.J. is what mom used to be. So, when are you guys gonna come up and visit the station Shar? I don’t know Jessie, one day for sure. Call when you guys come, and I will make sure we go to Plaza City to Lunar Rock Lounge. Thats a date Jessie. What about you Maya, would you come with us? I suppose, clubs haven’t really been my thing, but I do need to take some kind of break after this research project we have been working on. I spend 18 hours a day in the lab, not much time for anything else right now. Well, we’re gonna have to change that, come with us and we will show you how to party, ok.

As Maya drifts back to the present, she wishes that they had come to the Lunar station for that reason instead of what they had in the past days. Hey Princess. Yeah dad. You ok? Yes, sure, I’m fine. Wanta walk me around to the suit room? Maya knods. Will, Sean, P.J. and Maya walk through the shuttle going to the room that Sharon and Anya were preparing the new Dark Suits. As they walk through, they run into Sargent Joshua Tanner and Corpral Cody Walker. As they see the two, Will and Sean stop them. Sgt. Tanner and Cpl. Walker good to see you again. Professor Wilson, Professor Settles, how are things, had’nt seen you much since the attack. Sgt. Tanner, Cpl. Walker I’d like you to meet Agent P.J. Middles, and my daughter Doctor Maya Settles. The two men shook the ladies hand and somewhat bowed Agent Middles, Dr. Settles, it’s a pleasure to meet you both. Clp. Walker, Sgt. Tanner, it a pleasure to meet you both as well. In that introduction, the three things that stood out to P.J. and Maya; for P.J., it was finally putting a face to all the stories she had been hearing the past few days of three very brave marines, two, the two marines were extremely rudgetly hansom, three, Maya was openly taken with Cpl. Cody Walker. For Maya, in her mind, it was Bla, bla, bla, bla!, Bla, bla, bla!, Bla, bla!, Cody Walker. She looked calmed, but her glaze was all but transparent. Maya, these are the two marines I told you about. They helpped Sharon, Rico and others capture and hold the Lunar Com and Command Center. I heard my little girl sister was pretty impressive Clp. Walker. Yes mam, she could be my back any time. She kick some major butt that day mam. P.J. looks at Sean. Bet her dad had something to do with that! Hey, what can I say, they say we always save the best for last. In this case, last to kick Marine Corp A… ., Sean Wilson! UH, sorry, Butt. You know me P.J., never can resist. Well, will you marines be joining us tomorrow at the Lunar Riz for dinner. I didn’t know we were invited sir. Off course you two are, didn’t Lt. Mathis tell you. No sir, we have’nt seen or talked to the leiutenant since the counter assault sir. Well, I would like the three of you to come. Yes sir, we’ll clear it with the captain. No need, Capt. Weathers has already been inform. Thank you sir. We’ll be there. Well sir, until tomrrow night. It was nice to meet you, Dr. Settles, Agent Middles. The pleasure was ours marines, see you tomrrow. And it’s really a pleasure to meet you Clp. Walker. You too Dr Settles. Cody was so overjoyed to hear Maya address him specificly. It could be seen in his eyes. The two marines knodded once more. Professor Wilson, Professor Settles. See you boys tomorrow. The two continued down the corridor. Will and the others continued on. And its really a pleasure to met you Clp. Walker, huh Maya. Uncle Sean, I did nothing wrong, I just wanted to be nice, is all. O-K, Dr. Settles, and you have a piece of land you want to sale me in the middle of the pacific too, right. Oh Sean, leave her alone. Ok, ok, but you did see what I saw right. Don’t worry about your Uncle Sean Princess, you know how he is. Dad, I don’t think Uncle Sean can be any different. You either love him or hate him, he still will be Uncle Sean. They all laughed and walked on. Dad, I’m gonna stop and check sick bay, I’ll see you later ok. Ok Princess, see you later. See you later P.J., Uncle Sean. See you later god daughter. Bye Princess, see you later. Maya smiles at P.J. because P.J. had never called her Princess before. It felt so good to hear that from P.J., like when Kate used to call her that. When Maya heard her mother and father say that, she truly felt like a princess, always felt love and protected. She felt magnificently special. Will, P.J. and Sean kissed Maya’s cheek and hugged her before she went to sick bay. They continued on to the suit room. Cpl. Walker is a hansom young man Will, don’t you think. He’s one hell of a marine too. I liked him right away. Me too P.J. Will, do you really think what is sticking out of the surface is a wing of some kind of ship? If it is, it’s bigger than any thing I’ve ever seen P.J. It could be a machine instead of a ship, but if that’s the case, how did it get up here, and who buried it? We’ll know soon enough. The three got to the suit room where Sharon, Anya and the dark suit inventor had all three suits layed out. The three step in the room. You guys ready for us? Hey Professor Wilson, it’s nice to finally meet you, but I’m familiar with your work, and yours too Professor Wilson. Thank you Dr… . Dr. Brown, Henry Brown, Cal. Tech. Nice to meet you Dr. Brown, so these are yours? Yes professor, latest thermo gear technology. The Dark Suit is a Bio Mechanical suit that operates with the wearer. The three layers and life support system attached to the suit is completely atomamis. The first layer is polypropeline cotton, the second layer Kevlar Teflonic Rubber to capture and recycle moister, and the outer layer is equiped with recycling micro-thermo-chips that monitor the body’s core tempature and distributes heat through out the outer form fitted suit with senors on elbows, knees, and chest. The outer layer has artic heat circuits through out the outer layer, as well as newly designed artic boots. The suit was designed to resist any cold for the wearer, to keep the core and extremities at different tempatures depending on the physical activity of the wearer. The suit and boots were white, the senors on the elbow, knees and chest were black. It was a beautifully designed suit. The helmet had an interior light and core temp display on the dome shield. As the three started to dress, they were very impressed with the newly designed space gear. Wow Dr. Brown, these are really comfortable, light, durable, well fitted, I like it. Yeah, and P.J. looks good in it, we’re not gonna have any role playing later are we. They all laugh and continue. Only you could think of something like that to say Uncle Sean. That’s right Anya, that’s how I roll."

While Will, Sean, and P.J suit up, T.J., Oshi, Dari and the twins are lighting up the surface with the sun lamps looking for anything on the surface around the object. Can you see anything Oshi? No, but it appears to be well designed, no way this isn’t something that is some kind of intelligent advance technology. I tend to agree with you Oshi, but who, this is not man made, if it was, I would know about it. And why would they bury it? Better yet twins, why would they leave it? Maybe there’s a reason they left it mom. Yeah mom, Jason and I leave equipement in a place after surveying to mark a spot for work to begin on a site. We definitely have our work cut out for us. Well, your dad, P.J. and Uncle Will are going to be the first contact for anything that comes from this. Yes Aunt Dari, dad would reason with them, Uncle Sean will have ’hem laughing to death, and if they don’t like it. P.J. will beat ’hem down. Yes T.J., those three make quit a trio. Yeah mom, quit a trio is an understatement, kinda like peace, laughter and war.

While the crew on the bridge continue to observe and ponder the discovery, Will, P.J. and Sean are innering the vaccum chamber to exit the shuttle for the first ever walk on the dark side of the moon. There is no communication to the Lunar station on the dark side, only to ship and crew. Twins, we’re about to enter the vacum chamber, how do you read me? Loud and clear Will. Their entering the vacum chamber T.J. Put ’hem on speaker Marie. Go ahead T.J. Hey dad, everything okay so far? Yes, these new Dark Suits are fantastic. Hey honey, whata ya think, never would have thought your hubba would be one of the first humans to walk on the dark side. No, not at all sweetie. Wish I coulda come with you dad. Maybe next time Jessie. P.J., how’s your arm? Great! Never better, thanks for asking. Yeah dad, the first humans to walk the dark side, pretty cool huh! Copy that T., yeah, it’s pretty cool. "Okay
