I am your travel agent. I am here to help you find your quickest road to wealth creation by applying proven strategies to what you already have: your very own unique abilities and talents.

By applying the simple proven steps laid out in this book, my clients have seen remarkable results in whatever area of their lives or businesses they have chosen to focus on. Through twenty plus years of working with executives and entrepreneurs (many of whom were just stressed to their limits), it became crystal clear to me that even though there was an abundance of educational material on the market for goal achievement, success, and just plain making money, my clients weren’t being served by it.

I began asking myself the following questions: Why is it that so many good, hardworking people are financially struggling? Why is it that even the ones who seem to have it all are stressed out and searching for anything that will help them balance it all? After working one-on-one with several business owners and conducting hundreds of job interviews, I realized how many people just needed to get back to basics. That is why I created this crash course in basic life and business success principles.

This book was designed to simplify what it takes to successfully achieve your goals. The book’s purpose is to shorten your learning curve and timeline to wealth creation. You see, there really are no secrets to making a highly successful income. The only real barriers are the time it takes to learn how to be successful, and the lack of tenacity to follow through when things get tough.

I can’t write your future. Like a good travel agent, I can suggest to you places you might enjoy, matching up your personality and needs with information that I have gathered from my own years of education and experience. But I will not select your destination or drive you there. Only you can do that. You have to take the trip, but I can make it far easier for you to chart foreign territory if you just follow the road map.

This is a life planning book to help you reap what belongs to you. There is wealth laid up for you, and this book was written to help you harness your God-given gifts and talents to gather that wealth. I will quote the Bible throughout this book. There are solid reasons it is the world’s all-time best-selling book. It is full of life-giving wisdom that many will never benefit from either because they won’t sit down and read it, or because its wealth-building secrets are a mystery to those who are not open to receive them.

It is important that you remain open to hear what the Bible has to say about you and your wealth-creating ability. You see, the Bible was not written for only one select group of people. It was written for all mankind. I genuinely hope you will stay open to hear what God has called me to simplify for you on how to unlock your wealth-building power.

The core values of my company, PlanitDo!, are an acronym that spells FOCUS. The chapters in this book are arranged in the order of that acronym, which I like to call The Focus Framework.

This entire publication was designed to assist you in developing a focused, personal strategic plan that will give you the competitive edge in wealth-building opportunities, regardless of where you currently are.

This book is for the person who wants to be fulfilled in their daily work, and who wants their career or business goals aligned with their life plan and values. It is to help you find your destiny and build a plan to focus on the things that will drive you toward success.

It is for those seeking employment or self-employment depending upon their current financial resources, risk tolerance, and overall personality profile. Business ownership isn’t for everyone, but prosperity is. There are many different paths to financial success. My goal is to help you find your most natural route, so that your life is aligned with your work.

You might be saying to yourself, Who are you and why do you think you have the answers for my future? All I can tell you is that God called me to do this. It was no easy task to write this while balancing a full-time career running a CPA firm and staying true to my role as a wife and mother. However, the calling to do so was so great that I had no choice. It is no accident that you picked up this book. It was written for you.

There is a section in the back that covers my life and experience history. Rather than clutter up the front of the book talking about myself, I stuck it in the back so that we could get on with why we are here—you!

My God-given mission is to help you find your wealth-creation path, to give you an easy tool to plan and document your strategy, and to provide you with an accountability network so that you do it!

Faith

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.

(Proverbs 13:22)

The Scripture referenced above tells us that there is wealth stored up for us, but how do we get it? The Bible tells us it is literally saved for us. It’s there. It’s in God’s pantry. So why doesn’t everybody go get it?

Think for a moment about anything you have stored for later. Let’s say you make strawberry jam and store it in your pantry. If you wanted strawberry jam on your Sunday morning toast, could you just say, Strawberry jam from the pantry, please appear on my toast? Well you could, I suppose, but you would look pretty silly. If you wanted strawberry jam, you would probably have to get up, walk to the pantry, and get it. Or at a minimum, ask someone else to bring it to you.

The point is, getting what is stored for you requires action. Action is a key component of wealth-creation activity disguised in a four-letter word: work. That is why my company is called PlanitDo! All the planning in the world won’t get you anywhere if you don’t do something. But the do part comes much later. First we have to develop this little thing called faith.

If you wanted strawberry jam but didn’t believe there was any in the pantry, would you go to the pantry and get it? I hope you said no. Otherwise, it’s going to be a long read for you.

Wealth is yours and mine for the taking. However, if we ever want to receive it, we have to first believe and then act. You must do these in this order. Second Corinthians 5:7 says, For we walk by faith, not by sight. We have to believe it before we see it. James 2:20 tells us faith without works is dead. In other words, if you don’t believe it, the effort you put forth will reflect that. You won’t go after something you don’t believe is there. That is why the F in the Focus Framework stands for faith. F is the first letter in the word focus, and faith is the first step to unlocking your wealth-creation power. Without first mastering faith, or your belief system, you will not succeed.

Notice I am talking about faith and belief almost interchangeably here. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines faith as, firm belief in something for which there is not proof. Belief is defined by the same dictionary as, conviction of the truth of some statement or the reality of some being or phenomenon especially when based on examination of evidence.

The basic difference between these two words is evidence. It is easy to believe something if you have seen it. It is faith to believe something for which there is no evidence. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as follows: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. This is consistent with the dictionary definition that says faith is something trusted in without evidence.

I have seen the most success in my life when my faith is so strong in something that it has the same level of power in my mind as a belief, something that has been proven to me with hard evidence. In other words, it is where my faith is so strong it transcends from the part of my brain that just trusts in something unproven to the place where beliefs, or the proven things, are stored—where faith is literally converted
