INTRODUCTION
A l ong time ago in a little village named Sunniwick, Elizabeth was walking with her father, Lord Henry. Everyone respected Lord Henry, as he was known as the magic man, because he had
the power to help people who are in need of some assistance.
It all started when he was a young boy and he was cycling home from the village school, a little girl named Lucy had fallen off her bike and badly sprained her foot.
As he approached her, he stopped Are you ok?
he asked as he knelt down to help her up.
No
she cried, It’s my foot, it’s hurting badly and I’ve got to get home, it’s my birthday and Mummy is making me a big cake.
Oh,
Henry said (he wasn’t a lord at that time.) Let me help you up and see if you can stand on it.
He helped her up, but as she put her weight on it she squealed,
"No, it hurts! He put his arm around her and said,
Hold onto me, and I will see if you have broken it." He bent down and touched her ankle.
"Ouch! Then as he gently rubbed her foot, she said to him
Oh, the pain’s gone!"
Are you sure?
He had hardly touched her.
Yes I’m sure. You’ve got magic hands, would you like to come and have some birthday cake?
She asked him.
He had forgotten it was her birthday, Oh yes, Happy Birthday
and with that they cycled to Lucy’s home.
Mummy, Mummy
she cried when they got there err,
she turned around to him and whispered, What’s your name?
Henry
he told her
Mummy, I fell off my bike and hurt my foot, Henry came and helped me, he rubbed my foot and the pain went away he is magical, can we have some cake?
She cried never stopping for breath. Lucy’s mother came out of the kitchen, wiping her hands on her apron."
Slow down Lucy, I didn’t understand a word you said, tell me again," and with that Lucy repeated the story and from that day on, everyone knew all about Henry’s magical touch. As he grew older whenever there were any problems with anyone, he was always approached to help sort them out. He and Lucy married and to honor the wedding they became Lord and Lady Henry, then a few years later they had a little girl.
As Lord Henry and Elizabeth were walking they came up to what was once, a small pond but due to a very dry spell in the weather and neglect, there was very little water remaining and with no let up in the dry spell the whole pond could be completely dry within the next day or two. As she approached Elizabeth saw something move, she ran over to it and shouted Daddy, Daddy come quick, there’s something here.
Her father joined her by the pond and looked down.
Oh yes,
he said I can see what that is, or rather what they are.
What?
asked Elizabeth.
They are tiny tadpoles and they are running out of water.
He told her.
Elisabeth bends down and put her hand in what was left of the water, looking at the three tiny tadpoles Can’t we take them home with us?
she asked
I don’t think so, by the time we get home and get a bowl to put them in, it will be to dark for us to find them.
We must do something Daddy, we can’t leave them here like this.
She was almost in tears. Lord Henry looked at his tearful daughter, knowing how soft hearted she was, he then turned his gaze on the three tadpoles, then putting the palm of his hand into the water he said
"Water, you will remain as you are in this pond until those little tadpoles start to become frogs, then as you grow my little tadpoles you will become Bullfrogs, the strongest frogs in
