ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Introduction
This short book was written in the hope it would help the novice vibration analyst through some of the problems he might encounter while monitoring a paper mill. While some of this information is applicable to any site where the same kind of machinery is in use, this book was written specifically for the paper mill industry.
I made the assumption that anyone interested in this kind of book would already be involved with vibration analysis and other types of predictive maintenance. Someone with many years of experience in monitoring paper mill machinery might not find this book as helpful as the novice. Even so, there might be some tips and tricks he might not have yet encountered. Perhaps there are some problems he has been trying to analyze without success; if so, then hopefully this information can give the analyst new ideas to research in finding solution to those problems.
The information contained herein, entails a lot of things I wish I had known when starting out and had no one to lean on. If you are in that kind of situation then this should be of service in your career progression.
This book in no way is a denigration of any of the good schools out there. They do a good job of preparing you for the work you are doing. While some of the training does cover some specific areas, it also has to cover most of what a vibration analyst might encounter. It is quite difficult to cover it all in detail in a short amount of time.
The information is not presented in any particular order. Since it is not known by the author how your routes are structured, it is left up to
