About this ebook

This collection of poetry was written during one servicemans active duty in the US Army during World War II. It contains the personal hopes and dreams of a man who found moments of solitude to pen thoughts in poetic writing, to share his romantic love affair, a longing for home, and the rigors of life while serving his country.

In deep and silent meditation, but far from total relaxation, I sit here each lonely night and search my thoughts for words to write.

Experience a yearning, strength of mind, and determination to win not only a war but also the heart of his hometown bride-to-be.
