CHAPTER 1
Disaster under the Sea
24727.jpgO nce upon a time, there was a kingdom called Calibina, which was located in the Gulf of Mexico, and another kingdom called Kerdervio, which was located near Cuba. These two kingdoms have been at war for centuries. They don’t even know what they are fighting for anymore, but they just keep on fighting.
In Calibina, the king has special powers; he can control the weather and the waves. His name is Regio, and he has a blue fin and blond hair with blue highlights. His wife, Luciancia—who has a hot-pink fin and blond hair with pink highlights—has the power of love. She can tell who was in love with whom, and she can make others fall in love with them and herself.
Luciancia doesn’t like to force others into love. They only have one child named Cerencia. Since she is only one year old right now, they don’t know her power just yet. She does have a very metallic blue fin, and she has blue hair. Her parents are wondering how she has blue hair, not highlights.
The kingdom of Calibina was under attack, so the king went into battle while the queen went to hide with her daughter. Just then, the advisor came in and told the queen to leave; the other king has killed her husband. Luciancia said, No, I can’t just leave my people. But here, you take Cerencia and find her a good home. When she turns eighteen, she will have her full powers, but she may not know how to use them. So if you can, go back and get her and teach her about her powers.
But, Your Majesty, I can’t do that. She is your daughter. You should raise her,
said the king’s advisor.
Look, it won’t be wise for her to stay here if I betray my husband, but I will if they try to kill me. I would like to see my daughter grow up. Who knows what they will do to her if they find her.
I understand, but I don’t know where to go.
Go anywhere—the ocean, the rivers, and you can even place her on land.
But where would you like me to take her?
Anywhere. Just don’t tell me.
Why not?
Because she will be safer if I didn’t know where you place her.
OK.
So he left with Cerencia in his arms, trying to find a good place for her.
In the meantime, the army of Kerdervio forced back Calibina’s army. The king of Kerdervio’s name is Kerkan; he has a silver trident. He blasted through the armed forces of the other kingdom. Then he said, You go look around the kingdom to find any more of their army, and bring them back to the palace,
as he pointed to his army on the left. Now you guys go and find all the little mermen and the older ones and also bring them to me while I go find their queen. If I find out that you killed all of them, it will be your heads. If they refuse, tell them that if they don’t come with you, their families will die.
Yes, Your Majesty,
said his army.
While his army went to go and do that, he went to look for the queen. He looked in every room and bathroom. He saw the little girl’s bedroom, but no child. He even looked in the closets. He couldn’t find her anywhere. So where could she be? He eventually found the queen in the palace freezer. Why are you hiding from me?
I don’t want you to hurt me.
Oh, Your Majesty, I wouldn’t think of it.
Really.
Yes. So where is your daughter?
I don’t have a child.
Oh, really? I saw her room.
Oh, really? I don’t know what you are talking about.
Look, you better tell me the truth, or I will hurt you even though I really don’t want to.
OK, but honestly, I don’t know.
You really don’t know where she is.
Nope.
What kind of mother are you?
One that cares for the safety of her child.
What on earth are you talking about?
The reason why you want to know her location is to go and kill her, isn’t it?
So what if my intent is to kill your only blood heir to the throne?
See, that is why I had her sent away from here.
WHERE DID YOU SEND HER!
he yelled.
Look, I told you, I had someone take her away from here and for them not to tell me where she is.
"Oh, so
