Dot and I have been best friends since our college days. Many decades and thousands of miles later that friendship has continued and passed the test of time and distance. I was delighted to meet Carol when she came into Dot’s life-becoming a kindred spirit and a life long companion. This book is a wonderful attestation of a beautiful, successful, long lasting and perfect relationship between two souls who resonated deeply with each other. I am honored to share my thoughts about Dot and Carol and their life together. . . . and in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.
Florence Mercurio Riggs
The love that Dot and Carol shared together is brought to life in this small and comfortable book. Dot’s tribute to her beautiful life companion/soul mate, ‘Carol’, is a beautiful portrayal of an enviable love relationship. The moments recounted are both poignant and humorous. Dot’s easy writing style allows the reader to enter each chapter with freshness. Having only met Carol on a brief occasion, her energy was apparent to me. Carol’s personality is palpable in Dot’s book. I can feel the character of this special woman in each scenario. To aspire to be more like this extraordinary woman is another gift offered by Dot’s writing.
Thank you Dot—for taking the time to put on paper a legacy of a life never to be forgotten.
Beth Moses, friend and supporter
At the time of Carol’s passing, I hadn’t come to know Dot very well—yet. As fate would have it, I was with Dot and Carol at the hospital during Carol’s last few days and was privileged to bear witness to such total devotion, dedication and love. I could not leave Dot alone to face that deep, dark abyss. And so it goes that we soon became true and dear friends. Since that time, I have seen Dot struggle with her deep sense of loss and grief over Carol’s passing, yet she has remained strong in spite of it all. In seeking the help of counseling and opening herself up to new friends and avenues, she has forged many new and different approaches to life. I am very proud of her accomplishments. This book is a testimony of the love Dot and Carol celebrated and cherished, sharing some of their most intimate thoughts and special moments. Dot has poured her true heart and soul into this book. What a magnificent tribute to Carol and to the love they shared with each other!

Introduction
I wanted to write something about the life of the woman with whom I shared thirty years.
Carol was an ordinary woman who did extraordinary things while here on earth. Her legacy will be her three wonderful grandchildren, Hailey, Josh and Brooke.
At the start of this writing it was not clear to me how it would proceed or why it should even be written. I believe everyone has a life to share with someone special. We are all here to love and be loved. I was
