Rivers of the World (ROW) is a not-for-profi t Christi an ministry that targets remote river basins. Our goal is to serve with people who live in these river basins and those we serve determine our projects. We ask them what makes up their greatest challenges and covenant with them to meet and overcome those challenges together.

ROW emphasizes that it is their country, their village, their culture, but our problem. Our goal is to serve in an atmosphere of mutual concern and respect.

ROW projects run the gamut of human, physical and spiritual needs. Academics, research, educati on and medical/dental concerns go hand-inhand with church planti ng, constructi on, evangelism and Bible distributi on.

Since 1978, Dr. Ben Mathes has been traveling the world on behalf of our Lord. His ministry has taken him to over 50 countries. Currently the president of Rivers of the World (ROW), Dr. Mathes helps to provide people, money, and other items to reach the world’s poorest with a ministry of compassion and hope.

When in the States, Dr. Mathes speaks in almost 200 cities a year. His previous radio ministry reached over three million listeners in 48 states.

These devotions are based on the radio ministry. All information listed in this volume is based upon events that took place in winter 2010 to early 2011.

Preface

The very hand of God orchestrated this book of devotions, along with the previous volumes. The opportunity to write these devotions is an answer to several years of prayer in which I asked the Lord for an open door to write solely for Him. I have desired for some time to use the gift of writing He has blessed me with so that I may bless others in the furtherance of His kingdom.

Early in 2006, while living in Oregon, I had heard several radio spots featuring Rivers of the World (ROW) on a contemporary Christian radio station. One evening after I browsed the ROW web site I decided to send an e-mail volunteering my services to the organization for proofreading
