I am a Sunday School teacher. Therefore, I am a student. I spend 3-4 hours of study for each hour of teaching time. That allows me to learn some of the marvelous truths and messages God has included in the Bible. My goal is to get the students excited about their own study, and to enjoy it as much I do.

    FOREWORD

As a pastor, I am pleased to endorse this book that encourages two things that are dear to my heart, and I would venture to say, dear to the heart of most pastors: 1) Regular, systematic study of the word of God and, 2) Christians that are willing to share their faith with others. I enjoy preaching God’s word, but I get a greater joy from studying it. I am strengthened, encouraged, directed, and enlightened as I study, and I try to convey that excitement in my sermons. Most pastors will tell you that they spend much more time studying than they do preaching. I want my members to experience that same joy.

The five step method of studying is basically sound. Each step builds on the other until, once difficult concepts become crystal clear to you. I believe that we should continue using these time proven approaches.

Brother Dyson has taken some lessons that he has learned over his years as a Sunday School teacher and put them into this book. I like the way he presents them in an outline form that allows the readers to grasp the basic points, but still allows room for them to receive additional personal revelations from God as they study and apply the concepts to their own lives and circumstances.

I believe that more Christians would share their faith if they felt more comfortable in doing so. Some of the techniques in this book will help them lose their fear of witnessing.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. II Timothy 2:15

Then, the Holy Spirit will empower you to be good witnesses in your home, in school, on your jobs, in your neighborhood, and wherever you go. (A paraphrase of Acts 1:8)

Rev. Dr. Charcey N. Priester, Pastor

    St. Paul Baptist Church

    Orangeburg, South Carolina
