About this ebook

It is true, ‘life just is not fair’. We hurt each other needlessly, carelessly, and too frequently. Sometimes we do this unintentionally — these ‘injuries’ are easily solved. At other times, we ‘map out’ every step of how we can ‘pay back’, ‘get even’ with others. The results are devastating and the way back is especially difficult. For the hurt and embittered heart, life seems to come to a standstill, while life for the ones who hurt us seems to go on without consequence. “Life is not fair!”

We look for answers and closure in drugs, alcohol, sex, forsaking Christ and relationships. We are determined to ‘build (prison) walls’ and forget or drown the pain one way or the other. We ‘eat, drink and sleep’ the idea of ‘pay backs.’ Someone has thoughtfully said, “The bitter person is the one who foolishly thinks if they drink poison, that it will kill the other person.”

There is no special garment – no medical treatment – that can protect us from bitterness. No surgical procedure can remove the damage done by it to the soul. The ‘promise of new beginning’ comes wrapped in one principle... HEARTFELT FORGIVENESS.

Read this little book eagerly, for within its pages you will find the answer to how to deal with bitterness!

Redeemed and added to the body of Christ, May 31, 1959 at Southside Church of Christ, Beaumont, Texas. Graduated from Preston Road School of Preaching, Dallas, Texas, 1971. Have ministered to congregations in Georgia, Saskatchewan, Canada, Indiana, Ukraine, and Florida. I am a committed Christian, happily married to my wife Lauw Liang (Wiwik), from Indonesia. Together, we stand in the grace of God, and strive to serve him together. Purpose and Philosophy statement: * To encourage the body of Christ. Not only through published articles by dad and myself, but also through studies of the Scriptures, avoiding EXTREMES which lead to division, encouraging BALANCE which leads to unity. In order to grow in faith, which brings hope. To grow in grace, by which we are accepted with God through Jesus. * To reach the lost. This is the mission of Jesus, and it must be ours. Everyone deserves the privilege to hear about Jesus. There is ONE God, who loves mankind incredibly, ONE Savior, who gave His all that we might be all His, and ONE faith given to be shared in the power of His Spirit. All who have been and will be redeemed, come to God, thru Jesus, are added to the ONE body. That body has no official name in the New Testament but has several designations which describe relationship, with God, Christ, and each other. * To hold to restoration principles 1. “No Creed but Christ.” (Written creeds, and traditions are not authoritative) 2. “Where the Scriptures speak, we speak; where the Scriptures are silent, we are silent.” 3. “In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, love.” 4. “We are not the only Christians, but we are Christians only.” * To promote and encourage unity of believers. All who have by faith repented of their sins, and been immersed for the remission of sins into Jesus have been added to the one body. Christians may and often do disagree. That’s the way it is. Unity is more important than many of the things we have allowed to divide and weaken the body of Christ. Man’s traditions, necessary inferences, opinions should not be allowed to be considered authoritative. It’s OK, to question, and search for answers. It’s okay to disagree and keep studying. Truth has nothing to hide. * To grow and help others grow in the grace of God.
