The Body of Christ
Believe it or not people want and need to have something or someone to believe in and worship; rather it be money, material things, people, religion or some other cause. Everybody has something that they worship and believe in. The question is why don’t people believe in Jesus Christ and worship God? For most people it is not God that they have a problem with. It is the people representing God that they have a problem with. It is the church leadership and the church structure. It is the people who make up the Body of Christ
or church. People don’t follow Jesus Christ and worship God because of Christians
.
Let’s start with church leadership. In Christ leaders are servants. Before you can lead others you must first obey God and allow The Lord Jesus Christ to lead you. Beware of people who have a desire to lead; but do not have a desire to serve. That is the opposite of what Jesus Christ taught. If a Christian leader is not willing to serve others, he or she is not in Christ. Christians, you should know who and understand what you are following. Leaders set the attitude and the spirit of the church. In the book of Mark, Jesus Christ told his disciples:
You know that in this world kings are tyrants and officials lord over the people beneath them. But, among you it should be quite different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant and whoever wants to be first must be the slave of all. For even I the Son of Man, came here not to be served, but to serve others and to give my life as a ransom for many.
Mark 10:42-45
So, what about our Christian leaders today? Do they display the spirit and attitude of Jesus Christ? Do they follow the example of Jesus? Are they servants or are they being served? A leader in Christ is a servant to the people. Over the last 100 years many Christian leaders have transformed themselves from servants to celebrities. The focus of most Christian leadership is not on serving others. Many are no longer satisfied with being leaders in Christ. Instead, it seems that modern day leaders seek worldly status, prestigious titles, and authority over other men. They want to be great in the eyes of men. They want to be great according to the standards of the world. Many of our Christian leaders seem to prefer the wealth, power, and the recognition that comes from being a celebrity, instead of the recognition that comes from being a servant of Jesus Christ.
There are more Apostles, Prophets/Prophetess, Bishops, Elders, and spiritual giants alive today than there has ever been. And yet, the Body of Christ
or the church is having little to no impact in the world and in the local communities. We have all these Apostles and Prophets/Prophetess but where is the power of God? We have all these spiritual giants filled with the anointing
, but again where is the power of God?
In the bible we are issued a warning and told to be aware of false teachers and false prophets. The bible even tells us what kind of people they will be and who they will target with their message. We are told that these false teachers and prophets will work their way into people’s lives, target and gain the trust of vulnerable women.
They are the kind who work their way into people’s homes and win the confidence of vulnerable women who are burdened with the guilt of sin and controlled by various desires. Such women are forever following new teachings, but they are never able to understand the truth. These teachers oppose the truth just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith. But they won’t get away with this for long. Someday everyone will recognize what fools they are, just as with Jannes and Jambres.
2Timothy 3: 6-9
So just like how the serpent deceived Eve, it will be the same with these false teachers and prophets. If we take a closer look at Adam and Eve in the garden we can see the fore shadow of false teachers targeting women. The environment in the Garden was perfect. Nobody had taught Adam or Eve how to hold in their emotions or how to respond. So in their natural and original form before sin entered into the world Eve was deceived by the first false teacher and the first false teaching ever. Satan is the perfect example of what a false teacher does. So Satan himself set the standard and foundation for those who follow him. He won Eve over, gained her trust, made her feel good and deceived her with lies. Today his followers, false teachers of the Word are doing the same thing. In the Garden the serpent is Satan and also represents false teachers. The serpent targets Eve, the woman; she likes what she hears so she eats the fruit. This is a representation of how women will be deceived by false teachers. And even to this day what took place in the Garden of Eden is taking place in our present times. Women are still being targeted and deceived by false teachers.
And who are these false teachers and false prophets? Well, look around you; they are everywhere! They are identified by the fruit they produce. They have scandals in their lives and in their churches. They are liars, adulterers, and hypocrites. They seek the pleasures of this world and indeed the world accepts them. They have empires in their names. They have positioned themselves as kings among the people they lead. They target lonely women, cheat widows, and mislead the youth. They are clever in speech and use their words to take advantage of helpless people. They boast and brag about their so called anointing
always bringing the attention and focus back to themselves. Can anyone who does these things belong to Jesus Christ?—Of course not. And yet, this describes many of our Christian leaders. These are the people representing the Body of Christ.
In the world today there is much confusion about The Church
. You might ask the question, which Church; since there are so many denominations to choose from and so many different kinds of Christians. Because of pride and the egos of men divisions among Christians are wide spread. But, denominations are not biblical and they do more harm than good. Anything that keeps one Christian from fellowshipping with another Christian is not of God. If your denomination keeps you from fellowshipping with another Christian, something is wrong. Collectively, all Christians make up The Body of Christ
. According to scripture, there is only ONE unified Body of Christ
, which is The Church
. How can we all be saved and love the Lord Jesus Christ with all our heart, mind, and soul when we cannot fellowship with each other. And, how is it that we are all going to worship together in heaven when we cannot worship together here on earth. And so then why are denominations so wide spread? Who are the people who encourage division in the Body of Christ
? They are the same false teachers and false prophets the bible warned you about; each one leading people according to their own agenda, not following the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Is it possible to lead the Church, which is the Body of Christ spiritually without the guidance of the Holy Spirit?—Of course not. And yet, todays churches select leaders according to their own man made denominational guidelines and standards. Applying for a job in a church is just like applying for a secular job. Instead of letting the Holy Spirit guide, churches are using the standards and systems of the world to choose their Christian leaders. Today churches do not require you to have the Holy Spirit to be a leader. Instead, they require you to have a degree or certificate and clever speech. You need documentation that you are educated and able to teach whatever the
