A Poet of No Fixed Agenda

About this ebook
The bulk of poems are free verse, non-rhyming and try to use other poetic devices such as metaphor, allegory, and word play to create imagery. There are other more technical poems that stick to traditional structures and bring about with them a more profane and archaic look at the world and relate more to spirituality.
My inspirations were the characters from Dylan Thomass collection of work, my own dreams, and also the nature of my psychosis. I also make sure to relay the nature of the way I live despite its apparent loneliness and isolation.
Jon Sutcliffe
Jon Sutcliffe took up poetry in his youth at school and has been writing in all the years since. This is his first published work. Enjoy.

MEMORIES AND MISERIES
Laura-lye Laura-Leigh
She, in a fit of wisdom—imprinted upon me
The illusion of tomorrow
The Day and the Next
And the precious nature of the time
In between.
And I suddenly realized the thief I had been
And the now damaged quality—All the
Time I stole
Quantified itself in an aching instance
With its disappearance.
I, In a gap of new found poverty—stricken
In a timeless deficit
The past and the rest
Made meaningless with memory now transparent
Like Air.
Climbing from the gap that’s made for those
With nothing but time to spend—All the
Time I stole
Infinitely itself an aching distance
Now Nigh
Laura-lye
I, too long astray
Laura-Leigh.
Then, To begin an Ageless Epiphany—Potential to live a mere forever
The Leash or Tether’s
Just torn leather reigns in flames and ashes
Like Halo’s
In a perpetual Orgasm of possibility, Scope
And argued reality—All the
Time I stole
In love with itself after the voids clearance
Leaving trace and faintness as reward
Now, In reach at a stretch—before the image of illusion settles to shape tomorrow
A Day and A Next
A precious nature to replace the damage’s
The Decay
It’s spinning reels of improper misfortune—A tax of its own gamble—All the
Time I stole
Now fruitless itself—Void—A lost endurance
Pay no price to play—or too high
Now Nigh
Laura-Lye
No longer Astray
Laura-Leigh
As, the birds begin to Herald—Tomorrow and the
Lurid tides of dawn
Fresh scent and breath
Forward pathways emerge on the ground
Like canvas
The end
