    Have you ever wanted to know someone but found it difficult to spend time with that person?

    Something always comes up. Interruptions, schedule conflicts, and emergencies, among other things, make it difficult to get to know this special person. We realize we are missing the benefit of the insight, wisdom, and encouragement this person could offer us. Yet change is hard, and so we feel stuck.

    For most of us, trying to spend time with God is a lot like this. It can be hard to make the time. The difficulty of having a daily quiet time with God overwhelms our overscheduled lives and feels like an obligation which raises all kinds of questions. What do I do? Where do I start? What do I read?

    I would like to introduce you to Sara Hixon. In the twenty-plus years my wife and I have known her, Sara consistently enjoys a successful daily quiet time. She has served God faithfully and consistently while helping to teach and train others in our church for over sixteen years. She lives a life that exemplifies the teachings of Jesus. And now, because of her walk with God and creation of this devotional, you, too, can develop a great daily quiet time with God.
