Little Singing Bird presents a collection of the writings of Joyce Savok, including both prose and poetry. She recalls her life in verse, telling of the loss of her first baby girl and how God saw her through her heartbreak. She writes about her unconditional love of her first Arabian fi ly in Kansas. She writes of her love of farm life, the land, the animals and the freedom of living off the land. When she was a married woman, the view from her home of the snowcapped mountains, the rivers, and the wildlife meant everything to her.

In her writings on religious and political subjects, she maintains that this world would be a wonderful place if we could live by principles that the Bible gives us. She considers a wide range of topics in her essays and opinions, from the faith that is vital to her to various current issues facing all of us. Little Singing Bird offers her thoughts on the importance of caring and love in the face of envy and greed and of leaning on Gods love and promise of eternity.

In this collection, Savok shares the memories of her life, her thoughts on the world, and her absolute trust in and love for God.

If I keep a green bough in my heart—a Singing Bird will come.

Just as songbirds are attracted to the dense foliage of trees,

the brighter joys of life have a way of gravitating toward people,

with hope in their hearts. Just as a songbird would be drowned out

in city traffic—so the magic of friendship and love can be stilled by

by hearts that are calloused and cold. If no Singing Bird lights on my

doorstep it might mean I have not made room for Singing Birds.

There is special blessedness about a person who gives of their strength,

and time to help further the dreams of another.

MY new daughter, Rhonda Kay, who has brought such sunshine into my life… is so tuned in to making sure everyone around her is as excited. She brings such joy into the life of every one around her. She taught me tears, just help you grow stronger… God’s gift to each of us is laughter, It is our loving and Joy unspeakable and full of Glory!

BIBLE ON THE TABLE

THIS OLD WORLD OF OURS IS FULL OF TROUBLE

WE’D SO MUCH BETTER BE

IF WE HAD MORE BIBLES

ON THE TABLES AND MOTHERS SINGING,

ROCK OF AGES—ROCK OF AGES CLEFT FOR ME.

ILLUMINE ME, SPIRIT DIVINE.—SO

ONE OF THE ABOVE IS MY SHEPHERD—ANOTHER IS MY SOVEREIGN. ALMIGHTY ONE IS PROMISING STRENGTH AND POWER. NO MAN CAN CURSE WHAT GOD HAS BLESSED. HE ALWAYS HAS THE LAST WORD AND THAT WORD IS VICTORY! YET HE GIVES US UNFAILING LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS.

THE RAINBOW WAS GOD’S PROMISE THE WORLD WOULD NOT BE DESTROYED, AGAIN BY A FLOOD. THE EARTH, SUN, MOON AND STARS ARE TOTALLY CONTROLLED BY GOD’S POWER. AFTER ALL DID HE NOT TOSS THE STARS AND PLANETS INTO THEIR SPACE? THE HEBREW WORD ‘‘OWTH MEANS AN ECLIPSE OR A DARKENED MOON." FOR PROPHECIES IN JOEL SHOW WONDERS IN HEAVEN WHERE THE SUN WILL BE TURNED INTO DARKNESS AND THE MOON INTO BLOOD RED, BEFORE THE COMING OF THE GREAT AWESOME DAY OF THE LORD.

BUT DEATH WAS CONQUERED BY ONE PERFECT SCHEME. CHRIST GAVE HIS ALL ON THE CROSS.

THE GRAVE LOST IT’S STING AND THE CURSE HAS BEEN LIFTED. NOW, WE CAN STAND IN HIS PRESENCE,

AND BEHOLD HIS DEAR FACE. HUMBLED AND SO GRATEFUL—AND NO MORE FEAR OF DYING. HE

HAS GIVEN US GRACE.
