About this ebook

It is not by chancebut by Gods gracewhen two worlds converge. When an English Oxford don and a southern Christian writer meet at Sunday school, they are both healing from emotional wounds. Duncan is a widower. Lucy is a divorcee. From the first moment of their introduction, there is an undeniable attraction.

It takes two months before their first date, then two months before they marry. Duncan and Lucy are nicknamed the love birds by family and friends who all rejoice over their effervescent love. But just six hundred and twenty-three days into their marriage, Duncan sits up in bed while they are on summer vacation, takes a deep breath, and dies instantly from a massive heart attack. In her collection of poetry shared in three parts, Lucy offers a touching glimpse into their synchronized dance of love through haiku-style poetry that celebrates their first Christmas together, comforts for her grandchildren after his death, and helps her find gratitude in the months following Duncans death.

I Love You Greater than Space! shares an unforgettable lyrical love story that powerfully echoes the eternal truth from God that indeed, love never ends.

    Preface

In sorrow great joy can come forth.

That was the statement proclaimed by our visiting minister during her sermon. For me, it was a gift of answered prayer. Thank You, Lord.

You see, Precious Pilgrim, for months I’ve sensed a gentle pressing on my spirit to publish these old writings in book form. But why? That was my unresolved question. I just couldn’t understand the need, but that nagging pressure

continued. I began to take tentative steps towards that goal, continually praying, Lord, if this is not of You, please block the way.

Re-reading, correcting, recording remained weighty moves because of my attitude. It was as if I was carrying a heavy backpack with that question stuffed inside. Yes, Lord, but why?

At the precise moment needed the perfect person would come forth — Liz Griffin for typing, Julie Toffaletti for designing, Harry Moore for editing, Larry Griffin for sending. The door remained open. One by one the sequential stepping stones would appear as the faith walk continued.

This morning before church, I was sitting on a stool in my little closet with pen and paper. I knew it was now time to write this Preface. Everything else had been done. I began: We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love one another. 1 John 3:14. That was the scripture verse on my
