Prologue
D own by the dock of London in a tavern was a tall man with broad shoulders sitting in a dark corner waiting impatiently for someone. The darkness of the corner hid the identity of whoever he was. No one besides the waitress went near the man for fear of whom he may be and what he may do. A bell at the door rang as a short hairy pudgy man wearing green pants and a bright red vest entered.
Monte!
The man in corner shouted with a cold gruff voice. Monte shuffled over carefully sweat dripping down his face as he sat down. The shadow man pushed a mug of beer to him and asked, What news do you have for me?
Captain Nafau plans to attack the British ship that’s carrying the princesses who hold the map.
Monte answered his voice shaking.
Anything afterwards?
Just to find the treasure.
Monte replied.
Fine,
the man said finishing his beer We’ll let him take the map and stop him in the next city.
Good idea sir!
Where is Nafau’s next stop so we can meet?
Lubbock.
Very well,
the tall man answered, We will meet then, keep me informed.
The pudgy man left after paying the drinks for both of them. Your end is soon to come Nafau.
The man said to himself laughing, making a terrifying sound, frightening away everyone in the tavern.

P rincess Nora was on her way with her three younger sisters, Tiffany, Jennifer, and Marie, to be married to the prince of Spain, Pedro. She hardly knew Pedro for they had only met once at a party, but they never got to know each other. Nora who had flaming red hair and pale green eyes stayed close to her true love Adam Blair, the bodyguard of her and her sisters. Adam was a strong young man of twenty-two with golden hair and bright blue eyes. He was a soldier in the British army, given the privilege to guard the daughters of King George because of his excellent swordsmanship and bravery. The two had first been introduced when she was sixteen, and he was eighteen. At first she thought he was an annoying uptight brute, but later she came to love him.
She remembered that day the two first kissed. On a picnic outing, two years after they met, she had run off into the woods to gather flowers before being captured by three bandits wanting to ransom her. One of them was going to take her heart locket as proof of her abduction. Suddenly Adam came in swiftly striking the man dead. His two companions got up, quickly drawing their swords to attack. Adam drew his pistol, shooting one before dueling with the other. The bandit was an amateur and went to strike for the first move only find himself dead. After Adam untied Nora, he asked if she would be all right. She answered that she was fine looking grateful to her hero. The two looked at one another overwhelmed by what happened. With nothing but the soft soothing sound of the river and the forest surrounding them, the two instantly kissed long and hard. Soon after that they fell in love, however; it was a secret love for she was of royalty and he was not. However, despite the law, they would risk life for their love. The only other person who knew of their secret was Jennifer, and she promised to keep the secret forever. Now she was twenty and destined to marry Pedro, prince of Spain. Her heart ached, but she was a good princess and did as she was told her.
Tiffany, the second eldest sister, was in heart ache too. The night of the party she got to know Pedro more than her sister and the two fell in love. Tiffany was eighteen, a petite, pale girl with short black hair and large hazel eyes. At the party, she sat alone outside the palace in the garden thinking of poetry. Suddenly she heard a voice from behind quoting a poem that seemed to be for her. Tiffany remembered every word, How can the prettiest flower in the garden be alone. A flower that puts the moon to shame, a flower that makes the garden brighter than the sun ever could.
She turned, looking behind her, she saw a tall young man with black hair and brown eyes. He seemed to be a Spaniard. She introduced herself and the two walked in the garden getting to know one another. The man was very charming and seemed to have a lot in common with her. She talked about her past and her life. They danced outside to the music in the palace under the pale moonlight. However she was curious to know his name. She had given hers, but he had not. Walking back to the palace they stopped in front of the dolphin water fountain where he kissed her. Shocked but happy she fell into the kiss and pushed herself closer to him. After breaking the kiss, he asked her if she would like to stay with him and be his bride.
Tiffany asked amusingly, Can you make that possible?
Yes Milady, for you see I am Pedro son of the King of Spain.
You’re Pedro! Aren’t you to marry my sister?
She asked shocked at the announcement.
If I choose to, but I do not. You see your sister has not really spoken to me. She seems interested in someone else. That is why I left the palace, and found a more beautiful bride. If she will have me?
He asked down on one knee. She hesitated at first but then accepted. Unfortunately, their plans were not as easy as they thought.
When the prince asked King Antonio, his reply was No. How can you even think of asking me this?
Father why not? She is still a princess of England. There would be no conflict.
If you chose Princess Nora’s sister you’d be insulting her and maybe her father. The wedding will go according to plan. There will be no more talk of this. That is my final word!
As Tiffany heard this outside the window, her heart was saddened. Pedro told her not to fear. He would do everything he could to change his father’s mind. She saw that he failed, and there was nothing she could do. She tried to approach her father about the dilemma, but the King
