    PREFACE

Welcome to 2012 - DEMOCRACY IN DANGER. The ideas in the book are presented as a list of reminders to the voter or the non-voter, to help intelligently prepare yourself for the very stressful activity of possibly participating in what we call our democracy.

Start by recognizing how similar politics and sex are. People are constantly thinking, reading, talking, participating, spending money for and lying about it. You can do it alone, with someone you want, or even in groups. Physical beauty promotes success as well as false promises. Commitment is optional. Many opponents consider both to be sinful and in very poor taste. Both are outrageously over marketed and vulgar in their presentation. Ultimately, considerable amusement can be had by observing both. I hope that I now have your complete attention. The text is written in short and bold faced statements which may or may not be true. Like both sex and elections, you decide and act
