I was born and grew up in El Campo, Texas, a small town just a few miles from the Gulf of Mexico halfway between Houston and Corpus Christi. I’ve told everyone that not only was it a “fun” place to live but we were so very lucky. There were many successful farmers and oilmen and when they sent their sons to the North to be educated, they returned with lovely young wives who had little else to do but teach in our local schools. We benefited from their knowledge and by the time we graduated from high school although many of us had never been out of Texas, we were well educated almost to the point today of many college graduates, especially in the humanities. Being a member of Student Congress, I was part of many debates, “conventions,” congressional hearings, and elections. Speech classes helped me to learn to express myself. I married shortly after graduation. I have three children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Although graduation from college was not to be, I’ve taken courses almost all my life. While my children did their homework, I did mine; mainly accounting, finance, government, English, and business math. It was only when I became self-employed that I recognized the need for knowledge of computers and, although I have taken a few courses, I am pretty much self-taught. In 1964, living in the Dallas area, I became a Republican, “rare birds” indeed. Texas was dominated by the Democratic Party. I’ve worked on just about every Texas and national race since that date. I held every office in my local Republican club including three straight years as president. I was a member of the Dallas County Council of Republican Women for many of those years, serving twice as Legislative Chairman. Our Texas capitol and the surrounding office buildings became quite familiar. It was during these activities that I became so involved in policy making, government in general, and our Founding Fathers. My husband was with NASA and NASA contractors for twenty years and then he built the cleanrooms and “front ends” of semiconductor plants so we’ve traveled much of the world. I experienced the different cultures and politics of many countries. I was an office manager for two decades and then found my true calling, sales. I was a “traveling saleslady for many years.” I like to boast that I’ve been in almost every state (not the 57 that Obama has been in) and driven a rental car in most major cities. In 2003, my husband and I made the Cedar Creek Lake area our home and I determined never again to be responsible for anyone other than myself. I wanted no part of scheduling, staffing, and decision making. Making airline reservations makes me “nutty.” World War II proved to instill deep patriotic roots. Interested at an early age in my world and government, I’ve spent many hours studying America and American values. One might say that our Founding Fathers were heroes of mine. My admiration of George Washington and his rag-tag band of brothers, who fought to obtain my freedoms today and those of all who are lucky enough to call the United States of America their home, is profound. This patriotic love is topped only by the love of my Creator and my family. The threat of losing these freedoms, especially through the mishandling of said freedoms by our elected officials, prompted my return to politics. The abuse, yes abuse, that citizens endure each and every day by the media not telling us “the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth” causes our mistrust of not only our government but also our fellow citizens. Unless we can break these chains, we will lose our beloved country and freedoms. In 2009 I began writing my “letters to the editor” and have been very successful in getting them printed. You will just have to read the book to see what prompted this endeavor. If I can cause but one of you to understand the danger we have in this country of truly being “changed into one that no one will recognize” I will have succeeded. Following is a letter that I wrote to my grandchildren and various other young family members on September 14, 2011. Of course you will recognize this date as it was only three days after the World Trade Centers were brought down in a brazen act of terrorism. This sheer and utter hatred for the American people and our way of life made my patriotic streak sharper. I was more determined to never let such hatred change me and cause my children and grandchildren to live in fear.

The very fact that there are those in the world who rather than emulate our way of life and governance will slink in dark places to plot against us, to kill innocent human beings, and belittle themselves in the sight of God. My opinion of them is that it must be a lonely place in which they dwell and on looking in a mirror they must see cowardice of great magnitude.

You will see my innermost thoughts and character in the following letter which I mailed individually to those young people committed to my care. It has been reprinted many times for those who saw it and wished to pass on to their loved ones.

It is in the spirit of this letter that each of these letters to the editor has been written and it is in this spirit that this book has been compiled.

September 14, 2001

Dear Amber, April, Jordan, Kiley, Jessica, and Chans, (and assorted nieces, nephews, young friends, etc.)

My dear grandchildren, the events of September 11, 2001, in New York City and Washington, DC., and of course the fields of Pennsylvania have and will forever affect you and lives you will lead as citizens of the United States of America. DO NOT BE DISMAYED!!!

There have always been zealots in the world. There will always be those who try to bring down the democratic way of life. As long as there is a generation, like you, who VALUES democratic ways of freedom; who is willing to stay involved in the American way of life; who is, in fact, willing to give their own life to promote freedom and safety in the world, the insanely hideous cowards WILL NOT bring us down. THEY WILL NOT PREVAIL!!!

We ARE the greatest REPUBLIC that this world has ever seen…and, yes, we do have our own failings, but, for the most part, our hearts and our heads ARE in the right place. It is up to you and your peers to SEEK THE TRUTH!!!

Do not be fooled by liberal-minded professors and leaders who will try to convince you that WE are the aggressors and WE try to police the world. What, I ask, would have happened had WE (the U.S.) NOT have been the strongest, most giving country in the world. As you have seen, IN SPITE OF our giving, open, American way of life, we STILL are set upon!!! LET IT NOT BREAK OUR SPIRIT!!!

This nation was formed under God. May you, my grandchildren, NEVER forget that tenet. May you always seek the solace, the protection of Almighty God. May you always bow before Him and humble yourselves in His Holy Light. GOD IS MIGHTY!!!

And, furthermore, SHOULD you ever feel vulnerable, questioning, lonely, tired…know that I am THERE for you. All you need do is ask. If I do not have the answer to your questions, I will help you find those answers. THERE IS HOPE!!!

I love you AND I respect you. I wish you, not only happiness in your lives, but also the joy that true INVOLVEMENT in your communities, your state, your country, and, indeed, your world brings. GET AND STAY INVOLVED!!!

PROLOGUE

Leading up to the 2008 Election

During the campaign of 2008, I did everything within my power to get citizens to vote against Obama. I was not at all pleased with his credentials and I strongly felt that the media was giving him a pass and basically throwing the elections. I wrote many letters to friends and relatives urging all to study in depth this candidate put forth by the Democratic Party. In my opinion, this man was not qualified to lead the most powerful country in the world. He had only been in the Senate one term during which he put forth not one piece of legislation and even worse, when given the opportunity to voice his opinion, he voted Present not even being sure enough of himself to state his druthers for our country.

And then as if to agree with my opinion, Obama himself began to stress his desire to completely change our country into something none of us would recognize. Share the Wealth became his campaign slogan, sounding ever more so like a socialistic (at best progressive) candidate. Aside from the fact that socialism has never worked in the past no matter where it was instituted, the majority of Americans have absolutely no interest in going down that road.

Anyone (like me) who dared to question his motives and/or ideologies were labeled , quite unfairly, racists. The color of his skin scared me not in the least. The ideas in his heart and in his mind scared me nearly to death and my worst imaginations proved true.

It’s interesting that many of my misgivings about this inexperienced man have proved to be founded. Our county and our government are floundering due to his inability to live up the pressures of the job.

Following are several letters and statements issued by me prior to the election. Some have been embellished to promote readability.

THE NATIONAL OBAMA SHOW

October 8, 2008

What you witnessed last evening was no debate. It was the initial airing of the National Barack Hussein Obama Show, moderated by none other than Obama himself. Tom Brokaw, left-leaning wimp that he is, had absolutely no control of the powerfully intelligent talkative orator.

And, it is finished. Everything, that is, except for the Coronation of King Barack Hussein Obama. That will take place in January; however, you can expect that the monarchy will rule within weeks.

And, at that time, fellow Americans, here is what we are in for….the White House will be defiled by visiting guests Louis Farrakhan, Bill Ayers, Rashid Khalidi, Jesse Jackson and heads of rogue countries, spewing American-hating rhetoric. Not to omit the radical leftists in Hollywood who will have an ear and an open door, entertainment provided by rappers (names unknown to me) singing their praises of rape, racial slurs, and who knows what other hatred and bile. Lest we forget, the Most Reverend Jeremiah Wright will be invoking the blessings of God on these and asking God to damn America. This is NOT racial; it IS radical.

Our Congress, led by the likes of Pelosi, Reid, Chris Dodd, Chuck Schumer, Al Sharpton, Barney Frank, and other left wingers will insure that our tax dollars are wisely spent. Organizations such as ACORN, poster-child of voter fraud, will be given more tax support to assure that we never again have a free and honest election. Many more organizations of their ilk will arise to receive billions of dollars.

Our 2nd Amendment rights will be sorely in danger. Gov. Palin had best hide one of her rifles with which to hunt moose.

The mainstream media will continue as Obama’s tie with the world and will bow to his every whim, making sure that his word is spread. It will be illegal for any programs that question his authority to air.

Our next Supreme Court Justice could well be Hillary (and that is the best case scenario.) And, can you imagine Bill as our appointee to the United Nations? Our tax dollars will be expressed to countries around the world, many you possibly have never even heard of.

No, friends and family, that was not a debate we witnessed last evening. That was the first step toward a total U-turn of our American values as we now know them. That was our first step toward socialism in a really big way. That was our first step toward an America that in only a few years (should we continue on this course) none of us will recognize.

If the above does not bring patriotic, God-fearing Americans to their knees, I don’t know what will. If what we experienced last evening does not make us all run to the polls to try to quell this rush toward the point of no return, I and many of my generation have let our country down. We have closed our eyes to the hatred of the left-wing radicals in Hollywood, Washington, and other locations in our country. We have dropped the ball; we have not followed the leadership of our Founding Fathers; we have not stayed the course; we have not lived up to our Christian values.

BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA’S PLAN FOR SPREADING THE WEALTH

I know this to be factual.

Here’s how it works WITHOUT having to call it welfare. I’ve rounded figures to make it easier to exhibit. The way it is now – October 15, 2008.

Able Taxpayer has a good job and earns $100,000 per year for his family. Off the top comes the Social Security and Medicare taxes of 7 ½ percent = $7,500. His employer matches this and sends $15,000 in Able’s name to the Social Security Administration.

Then, Able usually qualifies for another approximately 25% in exemptions before income taxes are applied, leaving his taxable income at approximately $70,000. At 20% the income taxes Able would owe are $14,000.

Now, Family 1, Family 2 and Family 3 come along and file an income tax return. For the sake of simplicity, let’s assume they each make only $20,000 per family. They MUST pay their Social Security and Medicare taxes of 7 ½ % = $1,500 each leaving them $18,500 each (no argument that it’s basically impossible to live on this amount of income); however, this is where Able (see above) comes into play. The Internal Revenue Service receives these three family’s returns and grants them Earned Income Compensation equaling approximately $4,700 each. (The IRS labels this payment a refund even though a refund is a return of something. Since these three families paid in absolutely nothing, it is actually a REFUND of the taxes paid in by Able.)

Now, in America, Able and his spouse are two votes; however, the three families above are six votes. Able and his spouse vote for lower taxes and the three families (who pay no taxes anyway) will vote to increase taxes. Keep in mind, please, that 33% of Americans DO NOT PAY ANY INCOME TAXES TODAY. Under BHO’s plan this will increase to a minimum of 50%.

NOW, under BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA’S PLAN – 2009 or 2011 (whenever he gets it passed)

Same scenario above, Able’s Social Security and Medicare will approximately double to $15,000 and $30,000 total, leaving Able $85,000 of which 25% is exempted. That leaves approximately $64,000 taxable income at (let’s say BHO can only secure an increase from 20% to 25%) 25% = $16,000 income taxes due from Able. Now, Able’s spendable income has gone from $56,000 in 2008 to $48,000 in 2010.

AND, the three family’s above will receive at least a 100% increase in the refunds from the IRS so now Able’s taxes will only cover 1.7 families; however, they STILL can outvote Able"

THIS IS A VERY MUCH SIMPLIFIED VERSION OF WHAT IS COMING UNDER OBAMA AND THE LIBERAL DEMOCRAT CONGRESS.

ONCE WE ELECT HIM, THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO STOPPING HIM. MY THINKING IS THAT EVENTUALLY ABLE TAXPAYER AND HIS FAMILY WILL FIND THAT IT IS NO LONGER IN THEIR BEST INTEREST TO BUST BUTT AND NOT END UP WITH MUCH MORE THAN THE FAMILIES WHO TAKE JOBS THAT REQUIRE HARD WORK BUT HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY.

I BELIEVE THIS IS LABELED APPROPRIATELY SOCIALISM.
