Political Correctness: The Enemy Within

UNDER ATTACK
It began as a gentle breeze nothing more than a
friendly Happy Holiday instead of Merry Christmas
which, it was said, might offend a non-Christian.
Soon the soft breeze became a flurry of potential words
which could be offensive Racist, sexist, homophobic.
Our vocabulary, we noticed, was being sharply censored
by well meaning media folks, who saw themselves as
political correction watchdogs.
In our busy, everyday lives, we went along with Happy
Holidays, but thought little of the approaching cultural
storm, now known simply as PC. All around us, is evidence of this challenge to the very core of Americanism. PC is invading our religion, our speech, our
flag, our history and, yes, our way of life. All are under attack.
Athletes refusing to stand for our national anthem, prayers not allowed in public schools, Black lives matter
(strangely, it does not mean Black lives ALSO matter)
The storm seems to be growing day by day.

What are we to do about it?
PC can be defeated. We can save our traditional values.

It began as a gentle breeze… nothing more than a friendly Happy Holiday, instead of Merry Christmas which might offend a non-Christian.

Soon, the soft breeze became a flurry of potential words which could be offensive. Racist, sexist, homophobic. Our vocabulary, we noticed, was being sharply censored by "well meaning’ citizens who quietly saw themselves as political correction watchdogs.

In our busy, everyday lives, we went along with Happy Holidays but thought little of the cultural change that was inching along under our very nose.

That soft zephyr of a breeze has now become a full storm, hatching PC ‘citizen police’. All around us is evidence of this challenge to the very core of Americanism. The media have become active partners in this assault. Our flag, our history, our religion, our speech, and yes, our way of life, all are under attack.

WAKE UP AMERICA

There is a storm brewing in our midst. A very dangerous storm, but as all category five killer hurricanes, this is still only a stage two… bothersome, but its’ potential death blows are not as yet apparent.

It began as a gentle breeze, the fresh air of polite consideration for one another. A simple idea.… Happy Holiday … greeting instead of the universal Merry Christmas. We really don’t know his/her religion, therefore, out of courtesy, Happy Holiday is safe.

Gradually, as happens with many good ideas, it was co-opted by academia… fertile ground for seed to take hold and grow into a weed. Suddenly, people in the professions became watchful, not to offend anyone. Sexist, racist, homophobic over- tones crept into our lexicon. This is serious stuff. The next step, of course, was the idea that if we were to be afraid
