About this ebook

When Germany lost its collective mind, the United States and its allies took steps to restore sanity, hold the Nuremberg trials, and deNazify their culture. The deTrumpfication of the USA is up to us, and our first critical step is decisively to destroy the Republican Party, beginning with the 2018 midterm elections. This book discusses a strategy for doing just that.

First We Destroy the GOP - Robert Devereaux

    Part Zero. To Begin With

    CHAPTER One

    Prologue

WHEN A POLITICAL PARTY, whose primary and essential task it is to represent all of its citizens and to pursue the common good, goes south and sour, that party forfeits its right to exist.

Such a political party, fallen absolutely into toxicity, ought therefore to be destroyed by any and all non-violent means possible, its infamy deeply etched into every subsequent record of our nation’s history. Etched as well into the hearts and minds of the nation’s people, passed on to all future generations.

Moreover, safeguards need to be put into place to ensure that we never allow such a craven political party ever to exist again.

Republicans have turned their backs on science. They are willing to bring on the destruction of the planet and the human race in exchange for obscene, short-term profits for the ultra-rich, for billionaires who bear no love for life, who are void of all humanity, greed-heads who care nothing for the survival of the human race, let alone the wellbeing of this nation.

It is incumbent upon us to do all we can to destroy the Republican Party before it’s too late.

We must save ourselves and the planet. We must step up to become the new Greatest Generation, for the sake of ourselves and of our children and grandchildren.

I hadn’t intended to bring out another politically focused book so soon after publishing my fantasy novella, God and Santa Claus Trump Trump, in January of 2017. In that book, Saint Nicholas and God the Father attempt to heal the broken psyche of a certain train wreck of a human being, minutes after his inauguration.

I had hoped that would be my final word on Trump and the GOP.

But as we hurtle toward the 2018 midterm elections, an urgency to preach to the choir of compassionate Americans—we’re a massive majority indeed, would we but vote en masse—has grown in me.

I’m now obliged to essay my first nonfiction book. We face a critical time, a perilous time, in our history. And we must devise and implement a plan to recapture and revitalize our Democratic Republic in the face of a fascist threat we never thought would arrive on our shores.

This is especially so since the Republican Party foisted upon us its tax scam in December 2017, thereby declaring war upon 99% of the American people, which is to say upon the nation itself, in service to a treasonously oligarchic billionaire class. That tax law gives 83% of its benefits to the richest one percent of the population while cavalierly adding $1.5 trillion to the national debt. And to pay for it, Republicans intend to destroy the social safety net, gutting Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.

Over many years, since the administrations of Nixon and Reagan, I’ve watched the anti-American, un-American nature of the GOP grow stronger and more virulent. As strange as it now seems, there once existed sane, patriotic Republicans way back when—reasonable and compassionate statesmen such as Dwight Eisenhower, Nelson Rockefeller, and Henry Cabot Lodge.

But the racism-driven obstructionism with which the Republican Party greeted Barack Obama—and now the horrendous human train-wreck that is Trump, the perfect embodiment of today’s Republicanism—shows the complete insanity into which they have led themselves and into which they daily threaten to lead us.

Truly and without exaggeration, this party has become an enemy domestic, a clear and present danger to the United States of America.

Lincoln weeps for his once proud Republican Party.

This book has some urgency to it.

Either we opt to shut the news off or we voluntarily subject ourselves, on a daily basis, to the bludgeons of outrage and insanity.

It isn’t just the bloviating bully-boy’s crappy little face, his crappy little voice, his crappy little hands. It isn’t just Asshole Trump, but an entire political party blatantly and openly harming the people it pretends to represent, harming the planet itself and the entire sturdy-yet-nuanced fabric of American culture.

    I urge that
