Preface
When I worked as a speaker for The Anthony Robbins Companies, I often opened my workshops with the following question:
If you could gain one new idea from today’s presentation, and that one idea would help you fulfill an important goal in your personal or professional life, what would that one idea be worth to you? In other words, how much of your time, money, energy, and attention would you be willing to devote to the receiving of that one idea?
Ideas can be viewed as tools for the mind. Creatively applied, they can be used for launching new businesses, multiplying the revenues of already existing businesses, solving difficult problems, creating new behaviors that transform aspects of one’s life, entering exciting new relationships, causing existing relationships to flourish and prosper, achieving goals, fulfilling dreams, inventing new dreams while charting a course for their achievement, and it doesn’t stop there.
Billy Sparkle’s T.I.P.s is a compilation of forty such ideas – each presented in a unique, fun, and easy-to-read chapter. As you go through each T.I.P., look for ways to apply it in your life. Not being limited to the financial realm, the T.I.P.s are designed to help you increase your financial and material Prosperity, while also heightening your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual fortune.
So, be creative with the tools, have fun with them, and be sure to share these ideas with others, for as A Course In Miracles teaches: an idea shared is an idea strengthened.
Prosperously yours,
Billy Sparkle

The Right Tool
One of my fondest childhood memories is of when I was trying to fix my bicycle on a hot summer day. I must have gone through every tool in my toolbox (along with quite a few sweat drops), and I still couldn’t find a single thing that would help fix the problem. So, I did what I always would do when my toolbox came up short. I knocked on the door of my neighbor Glen, who lived across the street.
Glen, you see, worked for the phone company; and his basement contained just about every tool imaginable. Whenever we couldn’t figure out how to fix or build something, he was our entire neighborhood’s ultimate source for a solution.
When I told him what I was trying to do, Glen said, I’ve got just the thing!
Within minutes, I was in my backyard; tool in hand, easily and joyfully fixing my bike.
I was delighted at how easy it was to fix my bicycle. When I expressed this fact to Glen, he smiled and said some words that have stayed with me to this day, Any job is easy when you have the right tool.
Think about that…
ANY job is easy when you have the RIGHT tool.
We all deserve to live and experience the very best lives we are capable of creating. When we’re equipped with the right tools, creating those lives becomes easy.
Our challenges are often made worse by our not having the right tools to meet them. Consequently, we end up spending too much of our precious energy attempting to get things done that are never going to get done because we’re working with the wrong tools.
As the saying goes, when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. And since we know that everything is not a nail, it’s time for us to empower ourselves by giving ourselves the right tools.
I can recall more occasions than I care to admit where I found myself wanting to bang my head against the wall because I wasn’t equipped with the right tool. Looking back, I don’t know why I thought that banging my head against the wall would solve anything (I must have mistakenly thought that my head was a hammer). What I do know is that whenever the right tool came along, the desire for head banging stopped. Plus, there was the additional benefit that the results I had been attempting to accomplish actually got accomplished – all with an ease and simplicity that had previously eluded me.
So, what is the right tool for the project, challenge, or situation you’re presently dealing with? Clearly, the answer to that question will depend on many variables, and the intention of this chapter is not to actually give you the answer. The intention is to give you the question. That way, you can bring this question to whatever project, challenge, or situation you find yourself engaged in.
If what you’re doing isn’t working, and if it is extremely laborious and painful to do the work, then you probably aren’t using the right tool. And if you are, then you certainly aren’t using it in the right way.
My suggestion? Ask for help. I bet you know a ‘Glen’ in many of your communities. Knock on his door, dial his phone number, write him an email, etc. Let him know what you’re trying to accomplish and what you’ve done so far. Then, let him delight you by providing you with the right tool. And in the event that you happen to already be using the right tool, allow him to delight you by showing you the proper way to use it.
Adopting this practice will save you hours, weeks, and – in some instances – months of needless frustration. And imagine all the wonderful projects and possibilities you’ll get to engage in with that newly created time.
Remember: Any job is easy when you have the right tools. And when you also have the proper knowledge of how to use those tools, you’re practically unstoppable.

To Be Continued…
Have you ever reached the end of a television show only to see the words: ‘To be continued…’ flash across the screen? These words are placed there to inform us that although this is where the episode would typically have ended, this particular segment is part of a two- or three-part episode; and we will have to tune in next time to see how things play out.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could somehow make the words: ‘To be continued…’ flash across our minds when we are beginning to engage in certain activities? Specifically, I’m referring to such activities as: starting or running a business, entering a relationship (romantic or otherwise), engaging in exercise routines, eating programs, or sales and marketing practices – essentially any activity or practice that leads to our physical, financial, mental, or emotional well-being. If we could begin these activities with a clear sense that they are meant to be continued, we would gain a useful advantage that would dramatically increase our Prosperity.
I say this because too often, we begin these types of activities motivated more by the results we believe the activities will bring us, than by the opportunity to be engaged in the very activities for their own sake. Then, when we achieve the desired results, we tend to dis-continue the activities, which eventually leads to a reversal or disappearance of the progress we had made. Our weight goes back up, our income goes back down, our relationships grow stale and stop flourishing, etc.
Alternatively, we fail to achieve the results in the first place because we weren’t engaging in these activities with a full commitment. We were only doing them half-heartedly because it wasn’t established that these activities were meant to be continued. We viewed them more as ‘necessary evils’ to achieve what we wanted, and involved ourselves at merely minimal levels of engagement.
Had we decided from the beginning that these activities were meant to be continued – in some cases for a lifetime – we would have resolved ourselves to that fact, and then set about in determining how to engage in these activities in the most effective manner. In other words, we wouldn’t be wavering as to whether or not we’ll even
