About this ebook

The twelfth child of fifteen; Growing up during the Great Depression was not easy. Our parents struggled to supply Our basic needs. Home was a secure place, a happy place where we were protected and allowed to be in touch with our true selves. We survived without running water, electricity, phones and many things you take for granted today.
To the younger generations of all families: I encourage you to spend time with your grandparents and great grandparents. Sit at their feet, listen to their stories, research their history. Your fore fathers worked hard and endured more than you'll ever know in order for you to have a better life.
There are so many opportunities available to you today. Stay in school, pursue your dreams. "Dream Big, Reach for the Sky". Don't squander youth away following the wrong crowd. They are usually on a path of destruction. "Be A Leader".
We are put on this earth for a reason. Ask yourselves these questions. Who am I? What is my purpose? What are my God given gifts and talents? What is His will for my life. Ask Gods guidance... You will find the answers. When you find them follow His plan and stand strong, you will persevere.

"I know the plans I have for you, "declares the Lord, "planes to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

    Foreword

My Mother, Stella (T-Mae), Mom, Aunt Stella, Mrs. Bob, Nana, Grandma,

Yes she is known by all of these names but each one is like time in a capsule of her life.

Stella—As Stella Mae Jones born October 4, 1928 (by the way she loves the jewelry 1928) in Clarksville, Tenn. to Sylvester and Will Henry Jones. She has always had a love for the arts and is extremely creative. She grew up with the nickname T-Mae because she was always tiny and Mae is her middle name. She was kicked out of church for dancing. (No not in church but in a school play) This was what encouraged her to study the bible for truth after her mother showed her the scripture in Ecclesiastics and said there is a time and a place for everything. So you see we got dancing, singing, acting, honest but now we are dancing in the church, and she loves it.

Mom—After marrying William Robertson in 1949 she moved to Dayton Ohio where they birthed her oldest son Donald. She began working as an Electrical Accounting Machine Operator for the federal government and a few years later moved to Detroit, Michigan. Before she gave birth to Gerald a car accident paralyzed her husband and she later became widowed with two toddlers. This was the start of the single Mom journey. Not only did she raise her two sons’ alone she took her younger sisters two kids in with open arms and raised them when she passed away. (That would be my brother Rodney and I) I thought even as a child, she had to be the sweetest woman in the world. Continuing her career with the federal government USTACOM in Warren, Mich. she worked 34 years retiring as a Computer Specialist having raised four children on her own with great values and direction. All of our friends and family would love to stay at our home because of her laid back yet stern personality. She was warm and allowed them to just be children so she was known to all on our block and in our family as:

Aunt Stella: The world’s greatest Aunt award goes to Aunt Stella. She is so helpful, sharp (we know her memory is sharper than ever still at 83) and she love numbers. We all admire her strength, she has endured so much hurt and pain but she is always inspiring and encouraging. She encourages us to
