Introduction.
As far back as I can remember, quotes have always held a fascination for me. As a teenager, I covered my bedroom wall with all of my favorite quotes. Now, as a pastor, my office wall reflects the same love of quotes from the Bible, politicians, athletes, musicians, or entrepreneurs that I had as a child. I loved finding a nugget of wisdom, motivation, perspective or inspiration from anyone great who had something valuable to share. I suspect also that, because I had then (and still do now, to a certain extent) a short attention span and a dislike for reading, I wanted my doses of information to be short and sweet.
I know that seeing these quotes on the wall, even if I read them one hundred times, helped me to push a little harder, to believe a little longer, to think before I acted, and to accept all possibilities. Being surrounded by those inspiring quotes helped shaped my perspective on life and how I live today.
