The Silent Screams of Little Jessie
()
About this ebook
The Silent Screams of Little Jessie is based on a true story of a little girl who becomes orphaned when her mother, abused terribly by her father both mentally and physically, is sent to the state mental hospital. Jessie faces many adversitiespoverty and being tossed here and there, unmercifully abused by seemingly everyone. Soon Jessie is afraid to speak or tell anyone about the abuse, for fear it will only bring more abuse. This frail little girl soon begins silently screaming for help. Will anyone hear her screams, or will it be too late? To protect the rights of some, all of the characters in this book are fictional, except for little Jessie. Sadly, all her experiences in this book are very true.
Jessie Parker
Jessie Parker was inspired by God to give her testimony in voice, word and song. Based on her own life experiences of growing up for the most part in poverty, tossed from one foster home to another—many within days of each other—in orphanages, and abused in every way imaginable. Through her book she hopes to show and give hope to the many children that are in poverty, in foster homes, orphaned, and abused. She wants to show that, despite the odds of becoming just another statistic, it is possible for these children to overcome circumstances and make something of their lives. More than anything, she prays that the readers will not see her—for she counts herself unworthy of any praise—but that they will only see that there truly is an all-seeing, mighty God that heard The Silent Screams of Little Jessie and that he hears them and wants to help them as well. Jessie lives in Milton, Florida, with her husband, Nathan Parker; her four children; and her daughter-in-law.

Forewords
I first met Jessie Parker when I came to Jay Elementary in 2008. I had heard many things about her level of commitment to our school, but I really had no idea until I had the opportunity to see her in action. She has tremendous care and concern for all people and especially for the students and staff at JES. Jessie truly possesses the heart of a servant, and she is one of the nicest people I know. She has provided assistance totally beyond what is expected of a volunteer. Even though she doesn’t presently have children of her own at the elementary level, she still devotes many hours to ensure our third graders learn their multiplication facts, and that they are recognized and rewarded for their efforts. When I read the story of Jessie’s life and how she came to be where she is today, I was amazingly surprised. My first thoughts were that there is no way that someone can have such a forgiving heart and attitude. To encounter what she has had to experience in this life even from a baby is remarkably shocking. Jessie tells her story from the same forgiving heart that she still owns today. The story is told from the viewpoint of a naive little girl trying to discover why anyone, especially a helpless loving soul would have to experience such abuse and neglect. The evidence of God’s ever watchful eye can be seen, yet too is the patience shown of the acceptance that all things happen in His time, and bad things do happen to both good and bad people. Jessie has put together a real masterpiece as she tells this story through true honesty and does not try to sugar coat what is actually happening to her, nor does she hold any bitterness towards those that treated her in such a horrible manner. After reading the first page, it was difficult to put the book down without having completed it in one sitting. I can only hope along with Jessie that this book brings hope to all those out there that may still be silently screaming. Jessie, you will always be a welcomed and important part of the JES family.
Respectfully,
James D. Carnley
This is a wonderful view of God’s power over circumstance through innocent eyes. What a powerful showing of how God’s path for our lives can create a positive testimony for the person we become.

Jessie is the most selfless person I have ever met. She is always thinking of others and going out of her way to make their day brighter.
After reading Jessie’s book and realizing what she went through as a child, my heart ached. I asked her, Jessie, did writing this book help you to let go of the pain and forgive these people?
She said, oh, I forgave them a long, long time ago.
I wrote this book so maybe if it could help even one child to see they are not alone, they can overcome the pain and find happiness. It will all be worth it."
I feel very grateful to have Jessie in my life. She is an amazing person, a true friend, and a blessing to all who know her.
I Love You,

The one thing that really touched me from reading was that because of all the abuse, you can leave all that behind you and make a different life for yourself with Gods help. And just hope and pray that other abused children can do the same.

Jessie Parker is a special friend I have known for many years. I truly believe she wrote her book, The Silent Screams of Little Jessie
not to be pitted, but to make others aware of the silence of child abuse in our country. Her book opened my eyes to the experiences abused children face. When I look at Jessie today, I see a young lady who has had many disappointments and discouragements in her life. However, before I read her book I would have never dreamed she grew up under such difficult circumstances. God has truly worked a miracle in her life and Jessie wants others to know and experience the wonderful love of God that has delivered her from her silent screams.

The Silent Screams of Little Jessie is truly a heart wrenching story. The details of her being tossed from foster homes to orphanages and abused in each one, silently crying for help and just a little love is tragedy beyond what any child should have to endure. At times it was tough reading due to her crucial, abusive life.
Jessie’s inspirational story is a firsthand testament to the resilience of the human spirit. What an awful thing to happen to this little girl yet she turned into an amazing woman, mother, and wife. Jessie is an extraordinary young woman and courageous in the extreme.
The Silent Screams of Little Jessie is highly recommended to anyone who wants to learn about a young girl, who is stronger than she believes, and survives a childhood of loneliness and abuse. To all who face some sort of adversity and want to give up, her story is an inspiration.

Miss Jessie, as she is known by students at Jay Elementary School, can be found serving anyone who needs help with anything. I do mean anything. You may find her answering the phone, reading to students, decorating a bulletin board, or comforting a sick of hurt child. If we see her in the hall and ask her for help, she smiles and says, ‘Sure, I’ll be glad to help."
One of Jessie’s projects is Multiplication Football. She developed this program to motivate third graders to learn their multiplication facts. She provides students with t-shirts, trophies, and a football themed bulletin board to track their progress. She visits classrooms weekly to practice and award prizes for correct answers. So, you can see why the students love her!
Not only is Jessie an amazing volunteer at school, but she is an amazing mother. As the Proverbs 31 Woman, Jessie’s children arise and call her blessed. She is an inspiration to all who know her. She has given her full attention to the activities in which her students are involved. They truly receive the best love and care from Jessie. For Jessie to be able to give to her family and community like she does is nothing short of a miracle. As you will read her stories you will wonder why she isn’t filled with bitterness. If you meet Jessie and spend 5 minutes with her, it will be very evident to you that she doesn’t have an ounce of bitterness. She exudes grace! She gives hope to all who have lived through painful trials. Many people who endure hardships allow their hearts to become hardened, but Jessie has allowed God to use her life’s trials to soften her heart. She allows herself to be an empty vessel to be used by God. God has cleansed her of all the ugly things that have happened to her and replaced that darkness with goodness and light. When Jessie serves others, she radiates God’s love! She blesses all who know her. To know her is to know her God.
May your heart be blessed as you get to know Jessie through her stories. You will be touched in a life-changing way as you read how God has done a mighty work in a simple little girl’s life.

There are many children around the world who are abused, afraid to speak or tell anyone about the many fears they hold inside. All too soon, their voices become silent screams for help. Will someone hear their silent screams, or will their screams
only be loud enough when they are silenced?
Introduction
It was 1966, a cool morning in late January. The sun was just starting to rise and the birds were singing. The big city of Houston, Texas was waking up to an absolutely beautiful day. Traffic was flowing well, which was even more wonderful for Carol Lenton, who was on her way to her little café right in the heart of Houston, Texas.
Carol was very happy. She was the proud owner of Carol’s Café, which was doing quite well. She was single, beautiful, and lived a very quiet, humble life in a little house which she shared with her little beagle dog, Kibbles. She was also being wooed by a most handsome man, about 5’8" with brown eyes and dark hair, cut as if he were
