About this ebook
Rod Evans
My name is Rod F. Evans, and I was a foster child in the state of New Jersey for thirteen years. This book will give you an idea of what kind of life I had. There was sorrow and laughter and, above all, many heartaches. I am seventy-nine years old now. This book was written by thinking way back to when I was young and all of this happened to me and my brothers and sister. Even though it brought us a lot of troubles and headaches, it was a fairly nice time for me while all the Evanses were together; however, when they all started to leave, that was when my life started to change. The little time I spent with my sister was one of the happiest times. Every time I have contacted the Child Welfare Department of New Jersey for confirmation as to where I was during these thirteen years, they have always answered with different dates as well as different addresses. Every letter I received from them said that I lived in some house that I never heard of and never lived in. It was like they never knew where I was.
