A Night on the Moon: I Am Looking for the Questions ...To All the Answers I Have
By Larry Gaddy
()
About this ebook
Watching a colored leaf fall from a tree... Seeing its dance upon the wind... Hearing the lyrics of a song unsung... Humming the melody yet written... Writing words that bring teardrops... And humbled by the grace of it all...
Some would say he's a visionary; seeing truth beyond the lies, twisting a simple word into emotion.
Question everything He heard so often as a child.
Looking through the stained glass in his minds eye, somewhere within his fantasy a simple child became a poet.
He is a story teller. In his words, you will find a simple truth. Hanging on a single word as a lifeline; letting go to find another. In his world, you feel the little things and the miracles they bring.
Through his eyes, the fairies have been seen, painting sunsets and rainbows.
Larry Gaddy
Larry Gaddy was born in Calhoun County Alabama on August 12th, 1968. Growing up in the south, nature was abundant. The leaves change color in the fall, and the snow drapes the ground in December from time to time. With the changing seasons he would find his path into the quietness of truth. He learned to appreciate the simple things; for simple things were all he had. He found solace, deep within the human condition. Reserved and withdrawn, he found truth. Growing up poor taught him that material things are useless, without the purpose of thought.

About The Author
I would like to dedicate this book to some of my dearest friends
Lovers and inspirations
Those that were there in the moments that I needed human touch
A shoulder to cry on or just someone to listen to my twisted point of view on life
Jayne, you were a treasured find and I shall always thank time and fate for lending me you. Without you I literally wouldn’t be here today
I owe you my life, my soul. I will never repay you in this time.
Olga, for always being there through the good and bad times you are my closest friend. You have always been there for me when I needed you.
We never shared a sunset nor wrote our names in the sands of time
but I suspect somewhere in an alternate universe I am yours and you are mine…
Jamie, my little Brother
You didn’t make it this far with me. Time took you for reasons unknown
But you will always linger on in my mind
Once when our time found us together, you were my truest inspiration
and the first face I want to see at the end of me.
For my Dearest Mother
You told me once you couldn’t finish Falling in a dream
because it made you cry. And as you didn’t live long enough to turn
the first page of this book, A Night on the Moon
I am sending you a copy to Heaven
I Love and miss you so
Cheri, you were my first and only true love. Although we were lost,
something lasting in my fantasy world was found.
Thank you
Kaley, my Beautiful Daughter. The years have passed and left us
but you will always be Daddy’s little girl in your cotton
nightgown that smelled of baby powder and you.
You are my most memorable!
Hug and Kiss goodnight
I love you… Sweetest of dreams
Sara, you will probably never read this
but you will always have a special place in my heart
You gave me a light in my darkest hour
and it still burns today
Deb, you and I will always have Connecticut memories
Manhattan and the midnight Metro out of the city
that we almost missed. Our time is etched in my soul
Jeanette, my Mocha love
What can I say that you haven’t heard
I am almost over you
Ruth, thanks to you I got a chance to leave my past behind me
You found me the link to my past. I owe you a debt I could
never repay. So this is my I.O.U.
Lydia, you are my renaissance fair, the hippie I see running through remnants of Woodstock with flowers in your long flowing hair. You were my
Blessing in disguise. Glad I found you, my wayward
mermaid in a dream
Heather, for the time you spent in the pages of me
The voice of reason
would try to wake me
But I am somewhere
in a dream
All in Love
When life seems like a dream
and time is after you
When the sun is going down
and your stars are out of view
Close your eyes with me
and for this moment
hold me there
Where the ocean
meets the sea
And all in love
is fair
Labyrinth of Love
My mind it goes so fast
There are so many things
I want to say to you
My true friends
they don’t last
But my virtual ones do
I am good at goodbyes
I have said them for so long
It’s almost cruel
But the lover in me died
so long ago
But when I write I can find
my starry eyes on a page again
I can remember what it was like
to be nineteen with my girlfriend
worried only about gas money
to get to the beach
With a blanket
The night
The moon
and her
waiting for a sunrise
that I hoped
would never come
And when you read me
my poetry
I pray you find solace
Because we all know
true love eludes
So I wanted to say to you
I am a dreamer
I am a poet
and that’s what poets do
We have our seasons
The colors change
as leaves do in Autumn
I want to fall in love
and sail away on the sea
drop anchor way out there
under the moon and stars
and dive into the waves naked
just you and me
Making love on the deck
under the oceans mist
I am alive again
with you
for the first time
in such a long time
What of you
Do you feel me knocking
Will you let me in
to this labyrinth
of love
Reminisce
Have I told you lately
time after time
Does the memory waiver in your mind’s eye
Savoring kisses lost
days spent at a sinners cost
hanging on the cross of love
Forbidden fruit is the touch of you.
Silken skin and tasteless thoughts of us
Waves washing in on forgotten shores.
I don’t know how to love anymore
It seems in time the forget me not’s
Become forget me often’s
And the days turn to nights too soon
for dreamers to sleep and pretenders
pretend to understand
The molecules in the dust of us
in their words are lies
in their eyes are distrust
And the fakeness in their eyes
are noticed by the few who hear the chimes
and tick tocks tocking become dear friends of mine
Recognized by their constant sound
and my teardrops taste of you
and my memories of us are better now
That I’ve added my truth
So listen with your ears to what I am saying
but not with my tongue
Then maybe somehow
without language we can finally
communicate
Our I love you’s
A Million Dreams
I just want you to know
I miss your smile
I miss the way you kiss
the way your hair smells
the way it feels
to put my arms around you
Your eyes as black as night
a million dreams
mine have found there
Your voice always calmed me
when I was roused
Your body the one desire
following me all the while
These years have passed with remorse
for I did not have you
to love me
anymore
Now it all makes sense
those lonely days and nights
seemed never ending
the tears that fell in vain
the prayers that went unheard
when I asked God
to bring you
back to me
Yet somewhere in a lost whisper
someone heard
a convincing word
of how much
I love you
Sending you back again
forever to me
I love you
As the Sun Goes
Down on Us
What was the reason, for our tender season
the way you look at me, makes me smile
surrounded by reminders of you
I am falling Into what was once something
I regret the bad times, the arguments over nothing
The cobblestone beneath our feet
walking hastily as to rid ourselves of each other
Looking back It makes me laugh a little
but then I wanted to cry
I just wanted the perfect end
to a perfect day, the perfect us
but some little thing always came in for the kill
Leaving the night in shambles
arguing over women that I did not see
or men you did not know
We were a perfect couple
we were shadows in a sunset
when we began we were special
before the accusations flew
I was with you at the time
shared moments we had a few
That was all I could give of me
yet you chastised me for the lending
nothing was never enough
even under a purple sky on a lovely day
we somehow gave it away
You love me, you have told me so
and I do love you, you know that’s truest in my touch
Still love means little If not much
and allotted days are all I have for you
you took them for a time in cherish
I gave them in want of more
yet this is me, this is how I allot my time
You assume it was biding time with friends of mine
but I cannot give all my days away to one or the other
I am torn that way, I am lost that way
I am unique
