    FOREWORD

This book you will want to keep accessible on your shelf at all times. To collate the Word of God we call the Holy Bible into sections representing issues all mankind face is of enormous benefit. I want to personally thank the writer, a young man with a busy schedule, for undertaking such a useful task. It enables one to see what the Word of God has to say on particular areas of our lives. For me, it will be an invaluable quick reference resource that modern society demands of me.

The Word of God is a reality that even after sixty years of reading never ceases to amaze me, whether it is its historical reliability, its up-to-date relevance, its challenge, rebuke, correction, or its life and joy. It creates in me a thirst for God and so much more. All history is His story. God in His wisdom has decided to preserve a 1500 year period of history for all men to know and investigate. The extent God has gone to in preserving this part of history is truly amazing. In modern times we are continually uncovering evidence that collaborates the bible. In addition God’s Spirit has been sent to lead one into all truth. This fact alone, because of this book’s use and reference of the scripture, makes this book even more valuable.

The writer has obviously tasted something that is for us all to taste, literate or illiterate. I have, over many years, highlighted books whilst reading them. In recent times I have noticed that a lot of my highlighting has been quotes from scripture. I am going to have a difficulty with this book as it is full of the Word of God.

This book will never grow old or out-of-date and become irrelevant. It will always be alive particularly to those who have been made alive to the Spirit of God because it contains such a high percentage of the living, ever present, never to pass away Word of God.

I recommend this book to you as a great resource. There is an ever increasing need for those who are seeking to be relevant and useful in our world of increasing sophistication, complexity and indeed desperation. I trust it will be money and time well spent, but more than that, that it will become a friend to you, for indeed a friend in need is a friend indeed. We seem to have been designed with ever increasing needs. Thank God for needs met in Him through His Word.

Pastor Wyn Price, (Head Pastor), Hillingdon Pentecostal Church, Uxbridge, UK.

    INTRODUCTION

My inspiration for this book came while listening to Joyce Meyer’s sermon on spending time with God. In the process of time, I have found that the Word of God (the Holy Bible) has such an immense power to set free, empower, and serve as a weapon of warfare against the evil of this world. It is written that All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV). I was in awe of the power that manifested from what we say with our mouth. The power of our spoken words thrilled me especially when I observed the life of Jesus. When he was weak and hungry and tempted by Satan in the wilderness. Jesus replied with the word of God to all the temptations. He spoke boldly after the first temptation, It is written: Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’’. He also spoke the word of God for the second and third temptations and in the end, it is reported that then devil left him, and angels came and attended to him". (Matthew 4:1-11) I scanned through the many miracles in the scripture and I realized that Jesus only spoke a word and the sick were healed, the blind could see, the lame could walk. Even after his death, his disciples emulated him and only spoke the truth in the word of God and souls were saved and many sick were healed and saved. It dawned on me that there is awesome power in speaking God’s word.

It is my prayer that as you study this book, you will find it applicable in your life as you seek God, who is great and worthy to be praised.

My objective here is to sculpt a book addressing some of the major emotions and issues many of us face today. Whenever I spoke with family, friends and even strangers, I observed many are burdened, bearing the brunt of every day experiences and circumstances. These have shaped their emotions and viewpoints and fast shaping their lives. In this book, I identify some of these encumbrances, and brought some illumination from the word of God to put them in perspective. It is written that The word of God is living and active, Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12 NIV).

When we speak the Word of God back to Him, we are praying in agreement with what He has already spoken, thereby releasing His power into our lives. So, open your mouth today and speak God’s own powerful words over your life. Take His words and speak His truths over your circumstances today. No matter how small the progress you notice, be assured God’s word is going to work. His word cannot and will not fail.

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it (Isaiah 55:11 NKJV).

This book is written as a handy quick-reference manual when you need God’s take on the life-issues addressed herein. May His word garrison your heart in Jesus Christ.

What God Says About Speaking Forth His Word:

    • In the beginning, there was the word, and God created this world and everything in it with his word

And God said let there be light, and there was light. And God said, let there be an expanse between the Waters to separate the water under from the water above it. And it was so. And God said let the water under the sky be gathered to one place and let the dry ground appear. And it was so. Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds. And it was so. And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth. And it was so. And God said, let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky. God blessed them and said be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth. And God said "let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds. Then God said, Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. Then God said, I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food (Genesis 1).

    • His word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105).

    • Every word of God is pure; he is a shield to those who put their trust in him (Proverbs 30:5).

    • The tongue is a small member of the body but powerful (James 3:5).

    • The Grass withers, the flower fades but the word of God stands forever (Isaiah 40:8).

    • For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together (Colossians 1:16).

    • Not only did the word of God make everything, the word of God continues to hold together the worlds: The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word (Hebrews 1:3).

    • In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made (John 1:1-3).

    • The word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even into the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intent of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

    • For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with
