    Chapter One

    It was 7am on New Year’s day, opening her heavy eyes and stretching to a certain limit until the sharp throbbing in her head kicked in reminding her of a fantastic New Years eve, she closed her eyes again due to the pain in her forehead, smiling to herself thinking 2012 is going to be a fantastic year, she briefly reminisced about events of 2011 and smiled again.

    She had welcomed the New Year in with her husband Nicholas and their two beautiful kids Kyra and Kenny by worshipping in their local family Pentecostal church that they had been at for the last five years. After service they had visited some very close friends of theirs for a couple of drinks and had come back home at 3am.

    She and Nicholas had made the most passionate love before they both fell asleep, remembering how he had touched her in all the right spots giving her the most memorable orgasm to date, making her smile again and sending shivers down her spine.

    She slowly turned over to give her husband a kiss and cuddle and hopefully awaken his manhood for another fantastic session of lovemaking, but found out that his space in the bed was empty!! She quickly jolted up and looked around glancing towards their en-suite bathroom hoping to hear the running of the shower but the door was wide open, she glanced back and her eyes fell on his pillow and then she saw it; an envelope addressed to her, in her husband’s writing.

    Quickly reaching for the envelope she ripped it apart, not understanding why her husband would have left her a note in an envelope surely if he was called out in the Early hours of the morning for an emergency he would have just left a post it not by her side, why on earth had he done this? She thought to herself, she thought of all possible reasons, not even considering the worst case scenario, she took a deep breath and started to read;

    Chapter Two

    My dearest… . that was as far as she got when she heard, Daddy daddy, mummy, mummy, daddy shouts of joy from Kyra as she burst into the bedroom jumping on the bed and bouncing up and down, mummy where is daddy? Princess, daddy has gone out she replied carefully folding the letter and slipping it inside her pillowcase, no he hasn’t mummy his car is still in the driveway His car, are you sure Princess? She quickly jumped out of bed to go and look out of the window and his car was still there, she rushed downstairs and as she opened the back door. The doorbell rang, she quickly turned round to go through the house to go and answer the door, almost tripping over the dog in the process, hoping it was Nicholas although thinking to herself why would he ring the bell? he has the keys to the house, she opened the door preparing to start up a heated argument with Nicholas on leaving the house and not letting her know, to her utter disappointment as she opened the door it was Philomena their nanny and housekeeper Happy New year everyone she shrieked in her annoying and weird accent, that always grated on her, making a mental note to herself about getting rid of Philomena this year, one of her new year resolutions, she promised to execute even if it took till April. Happy New Year to you too Philomena" she replied.

    Is Mr Nicholas still in bed? she asked, no he has gone out, but his car is still outside Philomena insisted, by this point she was beginning to lose her cool thinking to herself ‘this woman knows our ins and outs way too much, she has become too comfortable and too familiar, she, MUST go’ I shall start with your bedroom then Ma’am, I believe today I need to strip the bed and put new sheets and pillowcases, start the new year with fresh sheets and nice pillowcases, Philomena said breaking her trail of thoughts. Yes yes go ahead she replied with a casual wave of her hand, without even thinking and completely forgetting about the letter she had hidden inside the pillowcase.

    She sat down and made herself a cup of tea, Kyra came to her asking Mummy where is daddy?, he just popped out honey she replied, but mummy his phone is in the hallway, daddy never leaves his phone when he goes out. She quickly jumped up almost spilling the hot liquid on herself and ran into the lounge grabbing the phone she went through the phone and could not believe what she was seeing.

    Every single message, sent and received, every single phone number had been deleted except for one number a number she could not recognize, she tried dialling the number but it went straight to an automated voice message, she made a mental note to keep trying the number. She looked at the clock, it was now 10am, she went back to the back door to have a look in his car fearing the worst; suicide! She thought, Nicholas was too much of a coward to take his own life, she went back to his car which funnily was open and saw a Jimmy Choo shoe box on the back seat, she stood there wondering, she then remembered the letter she had tucked into the pillow case, SHIT!! she thought, Philomena was meant to be changing the beddings, she quickly ran upstairs huffing and puffing and thinking to herself that she must get back on to her treadmill another resolution she was going to see executed this year. She charged into her room but all she could see was a bare bed, the whole bed had been stripped including the pillows, she went down on her hands and knees and looked under the bed to see if the envelope had fallen underneath, nothing!!! Philomena! She yelled Yes Ma’am did you see an envelope when you stripped the bed? No I did not see any envelope, are you sure? She insisted, Ma’am are you calling me a liar? I said I did not see any envelope! She then started muttering in her language and carried on with her vacuuming.

    She decided to go through the waste paper bin to see if it was chucked in there, as she rummaged through used tissues and paper she finally saw the envelope crunched up, her heart started beating rapidly as she unravelled the envelope she opened it.

    To her horror
