Andre shouldn’t have been there, of course. Wasn’t as though he owned the property, or was even interested in buying it. He had his own reasons for seeking a lost place, an abandoned place. And this one was just about perfect.
To say it sat in the middle of the block would have been doing it a kindness. Truth was that even surrounded by suburb, it sat isolated. On one side the neighbor had built a high privacy wall that ran clear out to the asphalt. The likely legacy of a major problem with whoever once lived here.
