Sunday Adelaja

Sunday Adelaja is the founder and senior pastor of the Embassy of God in Kiev Ukraine and the author of more than 300 books which are translated in several languages including Chinese, German, French, Arabic, etc. A fatherless child from a 40 hut village in Nigeria, Sunday was recruited by communist Russia to ignite a revolution, instead he was saved just before leaving for the USSR where he secretly trained himself in the Bible while earning a Master’s degree in journalism. By age thirty-three he had built the largest church in Europe. Today, his church in Kiev has planted over a thousand daughter churches in over fifty countries of the world. Right now they plant four new churches every week. He is known to be the only person in the world pastoring a cross cultural church where 99% of his twenty five thousand members are white Caucasians. His work has been widely reported by world media outlets like Washington Post, The wall street Journal, Forbes, New York times, Associated Press, Reuters, CNN, BBC, German, Dutch, French National television, etc. Pastor Sunday had the opportunity to speak on a number of occasions in the United Nations. In 2007 he had the rare privilege of opening the United States Senate with prayers. He has spoken in the Israeli Knesset and the Japanese parliament along with several other countries. Introduction

The world right now is in a big mess. There is chaos everywhere. Nations are failing, governments are failing, systems are failing, and institutions also are failing. With all these failures around, the world is in dire need of solutions. Just as the Israelites enslaved in Egypt cried out to God, nations are crying for deliverers, for men like Moses who would save them but unfortunately the only institution responsible for raising these saviors and deliverers to offer solutions and save the world from its misery and turmoil, «the Church» is also failing. What a pity! Every sphere of life is going through serious difficulty. Problems and challenges have overtaken the people, leaving them in a pitiable state, in need of saviors and deliverers. The question is «Who would bring salvation and deliverance to our dying world.» Where are the men like Moses and Joshua who would deliver the people from their bondage and lead them to their promised land?

Christians in response to this have taken solace in praying to God to bring deliverance to the world. Believers all over the globe are praying for revival and breakthrough for their nations. Unfortunately, it seems with these ceaseless amounts of prayer offered from their religious buildings; there is no improvement or change in the situation of their countries. Let’s take Nigeria for example, a country with 85 million Christians out of 186 million total population gather every Sunday and some every Friday for vigils to pray for progress and change for the nation, yet corruption is growing in the nation, politicians are siphoning the resources of the land, the nation’s economy is getting weaker as the day progresses. If after all the prayers we have been making as the body of Christ(the church) has yielded little or no result at all, then I think it is only logical that we stop all our vain religious activities and ask ourselves if we are really doing what is expected of us as the church. Is the church really fulfilling her purpose on earth?

This is why this book was written to help the church not only in Nigeria but worldwide to begin to reassess her actions and to get back to the original purpose of God for His church. If after several years, our prayers and confessions haven’t produced the result we have been expecting; then we must be missing out on something very important. If all systems and institutions have failed, the church of Jesus Christ should not also fail at this critical point and season. While the church is spending time praying to God to come down and change things, God had already destined the church to be a solution ground. A place where saviors and deliverers would be raised and released to bring the answers to the cry of the nations.

God in His wisdom definitely knew a time like this would come, so He already gave the blueprint for His church through His prophet’s centuries ago, so that when the time comes, the church would be aware and begin to function in the fulfillment of her purpose. According to God’s master plan, saviors and deliverers are to arise from the church to bring solution and salvation to the world. The church is to be the light of the world in the midst of darkness. God in his word through the prophet Obadiah said: «And saviors shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau, and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S. The ultimate goal of the church is to make the Kingdom of this world to become the Kingdom of our God.

The church today is a far cry from her purpose. Instead of the church to be a breeding ground for saviors and deliverers, it is now a plantation of slaves and beggarly Christians. Pastors who are meant to be equipping the saints for the work of the ministry have now turned to slave masters who are ripping people off their self-esteem, their money, and ultimately God’s given purpose for their lives. The 21st century Christians are not taught to be saviors to their world, rather the only reason why they worship and serve God is for their selfish needs. Believers freely use God as an automated teller machine (ATM) to get their needs meant anytime they want. The church has shifted her focus from expanding the kingdom and bringing the will of God on earth to increasing her membership figure and taking advantage of ignorant believers to build their own empires.

Christians have been made to believe by the wrong teachings coming from the pulpits that after receiving salvation, believers are to wait and sit in the pews to make heaven. So, an average Christian instead of receiving salvation as a means to becoming a citizen of the Kingdom of God to influence the earth, it has become an end in itself. Whereas God saved us to be saviors to our world, we have been delivered so we can bring deliverance to the people in our sphere of calling. Believers are even discouraged and given names like disloyal, rebels, enemies, etc. whenever they aspire to fulfill their own vision and purpose. You would hear statements like, «Everyone is called to fulfill the vision of the church, and anybody that tries to fulfill his or her own vision is bringing division to the church.» This is a big lie and deception, a scheme by these «so-called» pastors to enslave God’s children, to make them of no use for the Kingdom of God on earth.

Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, laid an example for us by leaving the comfort and pleasure of Heaven to save and reconcile the earth to God. All Christians must, therefore, follow the example of Jesus and leave their comfort zones, leave the pews and begin to reconcile the whole earth to God. And not only the reconciliation of people to God but also redeeming all of God’s creation to Him. Remember what the scripture says in Romans 8 verse 19:

«For the earnest expectation of the creation waits for the manifestation of the sons of God.»

I have good news for you today. This book you have in your hands is the manual for your freedom from those slave masters called pastors. Through this book, you would receive insight into the amazing plan of God for the church in which every child of God belongs. God has purposed that His church would raise saviors into all spheres of influence. I am talking about Kingdom citizens who would cause a revolution in each of these spheres and reconcile them to the master. When saviors and deliverers are raised and released to these spheres, the influence of the Kingdom will spread all over the world. The days of waiting and crying of the creations would be brought to an end as God’s children go out and shine the light of God into the darkness.

In this book, you will receive the full knowledge and plan of God for your life as a member of the body of Christ on earth. It will open your eyes and hand over to you the tools to distinguish between a «slave plantation church» and a «Kingdom driven church.» I devoted a chapter each for the seven spheres of influence that determines the course and direction of the world we live in. These are:

In each of these chapters, I gave examples of individuals from our church in Ukraine and others presently alive and in history who have carried the kingdom of God into their spheres of calling, standing as role models for everyone who is ready to be whom God has called them to be. If they can do it, you also can.

Dear Reader, take some time out and imagine if all these spheres were filled with Christians who are solution carriers, Kingdom-minded people that have been well raised by the church to bring the will of God to pass on earth as it is in heaven. This whole earth literally would be transformed and changed. It will be «Heaven on Earth.» This has always been the desire of God. He wants His Kingdom to come, and His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. In addition, this is only possible through the church.

Finally, the church now cannot fail God nor the world. The role of the church in the redemption of the earth has to replace other mundane teachings that have handicapped the church. By God’s grace, I have been able to write down the wisdom and knowledge God has given me which I used to pastor a Mega Church in Ukraine that has made a tremendous impact in the nation, producing saviors and deliverers in all spheres of influence so that every church all over the world can do likewise. As you read this book, my prayer is that God will open your eyes and heart to receive the truth of who you have been made to be and as you apply the knowledge and principles gained from this book, you can be rest assured that you are ready to take over your world for Jesus, to be a savior and a deliverer in your promised land.

Let me start by asking this question: Is your Church failing in the fulfillment of her purpose and destiny? I fear that you might not be able to answer because you might not have an idea of what the purpose and destiny of the church is. You might be aware of the vision of the general overseer of your church but do you know the vision of the head of the church, Jesus Christ our Lord? Let me bring you into the knowledge of God’s purpose and plan for His church, and after that, you can be able to answer my question.
